Chapter 840: 836: Mr. Lewis' Admirer
Chapter 840: Chapter 836: Mr. Lewis’ Admirer
Not long after Richelle Dunn hung up the phone, Isabelle Bailes was sent back by the driver.
Richelle poured her a glass of water, listening to her recount what she encountered during the lecture.
After chatting for a while, she transferred some money to Isabelle as a reward for her lecture.
When Isabelle received the money, she paused.
“Sister, I don’t want the money.”
Richelle smiled.
“Junior sister, it’s not much. Just consider it as me treating you to a nice meal.”
But Isabelle refused to accept it, saying
“Sister, let’s forget about the reward. But I have a request, I don’t know if you can fulfill it for me.”
Seeing that Isabelle was insistent on not taking the money, Richelle thought about giving the money to the dean later so that he could add it to Isabelle’s salary in the form of bonuses or other benefits.
“What request?”
Isabelle smiled awkwardly, hesitated for a moment, and finally spoke.
“Sister, when will Mr. Lewis come pick you up?”
Richelle was stunned, “He never picks me up! Do you have something you need?”
Both she and Roy Lewis were busy, and the typical lovey-dovey moments between young couples rarely happened to them.
Moreover, whether Roy picked her up or not had nothing to do with Isabelle, right?
Isabelle had to tell the truth.
“Mr. Lewis is my idol. I want to meet him in person and see if I can get his autographed photo.”
Richelle felt slightly uncomfortable in her heart, but she still maintained a smile on her face.
“Sorry, he’s not a celebrity or a public figure, so he won’t have any autographed photos.”
With hopeful eyes, Isabelle blinked at Richelle, “Sister, you can’t even ask?”
Richelle put away her smile and looked seriously at Isabelle.
“Sorry, I don’t have the habit of giving away my husband’s autographed photos to others!”
She stood up and walked out.
Isabelle grabbed her arm, “Sister, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything else…”
Richelle didn’t know where her anger was coming from. Facing a woman who wanted to collect her husband’s autographed photo, she couldn’t bring herself to smile.
“I didn’t mean anything else either. You must be tired after giving a lecture all morning. Take a good rest. I have other things to attend to, so I’ll leave first.”
Richelle had once teased Roy that even if he didn’t become a CEO, he could still make a lot of money by becoming a celebrity.
But now, she understood that if Roy really became a celebrity,
She would sooner or later be drowned by the jealousy she imagined and created!
Perhaps it was because of Isabelle’s provocation that when Richelle returned to Lewis Group in the afternoon, she asked Nathan Caroule,
“Did Roy Lewis have a lot of girls chasing him before?”
Hearing the topic, Nathan knew that it was a dangerous question.
After pondering for a moment, he carefully replied,
“Dr. Dunn, did my brother Roy do something to upset you?”
Richelle shook her head, “No, he’s so busy now that even if he wanted to upset me, he wouldn’t have the time!”
It was already considered good if the couple could see each other for one or two hours a day while they were both awake.
In these one or two hours, they would spend a small portion talking about work, about half discussing children and family matters, and the remaining less-than-half talking about love and romance. They didn’t have any free time for fights or temper tantrums.
Although Nathan loved to tease Roy in front of Richelle in the past, he had become increasingly cautious now.
That’s because he knew that few women who genuinely loved him—not his power or his wealth—could put up with Roy’s current work schedule.
That’s why he understood that he should never add insult to injury for the disadvantaged Roy Lewis.
“Yeah, with his current schedule, how could he have time for other women?”
Nathan thought that Richelle might have misunderstood that Roy had an affair.
Richelle scoffed.
“I didn’t say he’s having an affair now! I just asked if there were a lot of women around him before.”
In the past, Richelle would not have cared about such matters.
But today, she inexplicably became concerned about it.
Nathan felt wronged in his heart.
Richelle was so smart that it was impossible to fool her with vague answers.
Yet, if he told the truth, who knew if Roy would have to kneel on durian shells when he returned home tonight.
“Dr. Dunn, who still remembers the past so clearly?”
Nathan tried to laugh it off.
Richelle grinned.
“What do you mean by that?”
Seeing that he couldn’t fool her, Nathan had no choice but to say,
“Dr. Dunn, like Brother Roy, who’s top-notch in all aspects, you wouldn’t believe it if I said that no woman chased him, right?”
Richelle nodded.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t believe it.”
Nathan told the truth.
“Since Roy became the CEO of Lewis Group, his secretary had to block numerous calls asking him out every day. Eventually, the calls stopped and those rich young ladies went straight to the doorstep.”
“Later on, Roy had to warn those families by threatening to cut business ties, only then did those young ladies back off.”
It was Richelle’s first time hearing about these matters.
“So, he did this without worrying about offending those families? I mean, at the time, he was only 22 or 23 years old. Logically, he should not have been completely stable in his position, right?”
