Chapter 645 Hope?
Everyone noticed the change in behavior of the three newcomers in the Undying Group but nobody told them the secret to their changed attitude and the sudden increase in their strength.
Both their attitude and their increase in strength were based on the same reason and everyone wanted to find out more about it.
However, it felt like they were talking to iron walls. Nobody budged in the slightest and the secret was bound to remain one forever. As long as they didn't join the Undying Group and were able to enter the inner circle one wouldn't be able to find out about the prophecy, the Veils, Veilures, and so on.
As for everyone, who knew about it, they were still troubled to find a way out of the tricky situation.
Outwitting the prophecy was a nice attempt but it was difficult to imagine that it would be easy.
Thus, everyone was giving their utmost to become as strong as possible. If they couldn't outwit the prophecy, they would simply change the future with the use of the Fate Changer.
While being around the Fate Changer, it was likely that others could play a small role in changing the future as well. No matter how small the changes were, they would be very helpful.
Dilan and the others were certain about that.
Other than that, everyone was required to become stronger if they didn't want to succumb to the powers of the other Gods either way.
Dilan's monstrous power clearly demonstrated that Lesser Gods were not Invincible.
If Dilan had gotten permission from everyone, he would have killed the remaining two dozen Demi Gods, followed by the Sun God. When they had first encountered Dilan, they didn't even believe that Dilan was strong enough to defeat a single Demi God.
And right now…they couldn't believe that they had been so foolish. It was unknown what Dilan's limits were. This sounded weird when looking at the calmly looking young man who was merely at the fourth Tier, but it was the truth.
Dilan was a powerhouse whose powers transcended Tiers, and nobody could really tell how strong he was.
"Do you think that the Sun God will leave us alone now? Will we finally be able to live a peaceful life?" One of the weaker Ascenders at the Peak of the third Tier asked.
He had gathered all his courage to ask this question, just to realize that his voice had been way too quiet. Many Ascenders wanted to ask Dilan and the others some questions because it looked like Dilan was easy to approach.
Thus, the young Ascender ended up sighing deeply. He just wanted a hopeful answer to his question but he also understood that everyone was probably excited and hoping for a happy ending as much as he hoped.
Dilan heard the question of the young Ascender and he released a shockwave of mana to quiet down everyone in an instant.
"I don't think the answer to your first question is related to the answer to the second question," Dilan said first, his eyes darting straight to the young man, whose head hung down. The young man lifted his head, just to see the faintly smiling Dilan, and…his heart began to beat rapidly.
'He heard me?'
Shaking his head, the young Ascender tried to put on a Pokerface but he failed miserably.
"What do you mean by that? Won't we be able to live in peace once the Sun God leaves us alone?" he thus asked, pinching the back of his right hand to forcefully suppress his foolish smile.
"Hmm…let me answer your questions and you will understand better.
The Sun God will leave us alone for a few months, at least. He will have enough trouble to cover up for the troupes he lost today. That is exactly what he intended to do and it worked out near-perfectly.
Unfortunately, it is pretty obvious that the Sun God will have a hard time hiding that he lost two million subjects and 10 Demi Gods. The Alliances bordering to the territory of the Sun God will notice this and they will start questioning whether other Alliances attacked the Sun God, or what happened for the Sun God to lose so many of his people.
After a few months, they will put pressure on the Sun God and realize that the other Alliances are doing exactly the same, and the time will come when a single spark will cause a massive domino effect.
And the domino effect is where I will get to the answer to your second question. While it is highly likely that the Sun God won't bother us until the very end, there are still many other forces that desire a bigger territory, or to build a territory on Milarn, to begin with.
The flying islands are a great place to stay but our current position is a little bit problematic. We cannot leave the territory of the Sun God because we would be detected by the other Alliances but we shouldn't stay here once the Sun God's territory crumbles either.
To put it simply, we won't be able to live in peace because the Sun God is bound to fall sooner or later, and we will have to fight as a result"
Dilan's answer was honest, but it was not what the young Ascender had expected. He was hopeful and rather optimistic after living through years of hard work.
He was also one of the apocalypse babies and he was not much weaker than Siegfried, which was remarkable. After all, he didn't have the same resources and teachers as Siegfried, who had everything.
Nonetheless, the young man was always hoping for the best. It couldn't get any worse, after all…or so he hoped.
"Once we're strong enough, it won't be necessary for us to fear anything. We can use the system to grow stronger than most races grew, but there are still many things we have to learn with the passage of time.
But even then, the power we accumulated won't betray us…never! We can acquire everything necessary as long as we're strong enough, and we will survive everything as long as our will is strong enough!"
