Chapter 601 601. TUNNEL
Chapter 601 601. TUNNEL
The event continued for a few hours and only when Noah revealed that he was low on essence did they decide to stop.
Elder Adonis could leave for his chamber to properly stabilize himself in the fifth tier. His eyes had seen things that day that rather baffled him. He never imagined the gap between the fourth tier and the fifth tier to be so wide.
Noah on the other hand could see his limits rather clearly. The fifth tier was even more amazing than he had anticipated. Elder Adonis had not thrown a single attack all through but had left a significant impression on Noah.
Now he began to wonder just how terrible the sixth tier was, not to begin with the realm even above that one.
He concluded that even now he still had a long way to go. If not for events piling up back-to-back, he desired a long cultivation session of no less than twenty years. He believed the fifth tier would have been his by then. Maybe even the sixth tier.
Unfortunately, that would not be the case. The moment Noah left the site that had managed to remain in one piece thanks to Noah suggesting that they take their display high into the sky, he returned to Elder Sarah's mansion. But his heart would not remain in one place.
Why did he feel watched so much? He had experienced the same event too many times to not understand what was going on. The very world stared at him with troubling intensity.
Noah let the event remain at the back of his head for the next few days. After Elder Adonis's breakthrough, he had not been called to over-watch the breakthrough of the lower leveled experts.
On the other hand, Noah dedicated himself to cultivating. News about the ongoing war continued to be supplied to the guild and he was even allowed premium access to those level of information.
The guild had kept the news of their newly gained resources a secret from the rest of the world. Even the various breakthroughs were kept secret, and only guild members knew of it.
A new vibrancy had erupted in the city. Experts that showed talent and dedication were allowed to take part in utilizing the new mana stones or crystals.
Sure, at some point all experts would have the same privilege, but for the sake of maximizing the resources, only those who showed far above-average talent were considered.
Things progressed steadily in the city. And apparently, due to the deaths of various experts and the sheer amount of help the guild contributed in the last battle, they could use the welfare of their members as an excuse to minimize the number of experts they sent to the front lines.
A few more weeks passed and the might of the guild exploded. Now that resources were in view many of those experts could finally reveal their prowess and cultivation speed.
Heck, the only reason cultivation was so slow for them was due to the low quality of mana that permeated the human continent.
Noah had essentially brought forth a way to shatter the limits their environment set.
In those weeks even elder Sarah broke through the limits of the middle stage and advanced into the higher stage. Not only her, but Noah could also count a handful of experts that entered the higher stage.
However, only then did other higher-stage experts that the guild previously possessed, reveal themselves.
He had only considered it before, but surely Elder Adonis had not been the only higher-stage expert. And he had been right.
The guild possessed twelve experts in the higher stage before, but those experts had been mostly dedicating themselves to training and hardly showed up in public. Only Elder Adonis, due to his status as a grand elder.
However, thanks to the addition of the new elders the guild had a total of 20 experts in the higher stage. A massive force seeing as Noah was part of that number and Elder Sarah.
Noah had encountered them a certain day when he was summoned to the golden castle. Those experts had been there, and about half of the old higher stage was past the halfway point. The others nearing the end of that realm.
They had been willing to exchange words since, despite the fact that they barely showed up publicly, the elders still informed them of various changes.
In short, they had heard a lot about Noah. And even testified to his power.
Those men and women had been with the guild for more than a century. The grand elders trusted them far much more than most.
After that day, they had each gone into seclusion. Apparently, an event would be occurring and the royals asked for the help of the guild.
The guild had not been completely informed what the task would be, but the royals had asked about Noah, revealing that they had heard of his achievements.
The grand elders had been forced to reveal that Noah had broken through into the higher stage.
After that point the royals had shifted through various questions thrown at them, leaving the elders uncertain.
Still, Noah had been asked to be on standby. There was the possibility that he would be honored.
He, however, remained neutral.
As the days passed Noah grew in the higher stage. The speed essence he now had access to could change depending on his level.
After certain points, he'd test out his skill and see the increase in their capabilities.
Unfortunately, he understood he'd need a long period to even dream of reaching the fifth tier, and that would never come.
At some point, he was asked by the grand elders to go on a small mission to recover something being transported from one location to another location by the other guilds.
It was meant to be delivered to the divine lightning city, but in a bid to make sure nothing entered the city that could leak information, Noah had been sent to meet the party that delivered it.
He had considered taking the group of 12 with him, but they too were busy cultivating.
Noah had been generous enough to grant them access to resources.
He had to give it to them himself to not trigger the oath the guild bore.
So he let them do what they were doing and set out on his own. Even Erolia remained in her soul space.
As usual, he sprinted toward the direction of his destination, but barely seconds into his journey something changed.
Whilst zooming across the regions, Noah felt a sudden ripple effect slam into his figure, but the event lacked any force, but he had stopped instinctively since he sensed powerful magic.
Noah narrowed his eyes as something became evident to him.
He raised his hand and touched the world before him. To his non-existent shock, another ripple unfolded before him as though the very fabric of space around him had become liquid.
Noah noticed the staleness of the world and suspected that a higher power was at work.
Various considerations appeared in his mind, but before he could arrive at a proper answer he felt the world apply a terrible pressure on his figure.
Gravity seemed to have increased hundreds of times as his figure shot toward the ground with blinding speed. His body unable to fight that force.
He was about to slam into the terrain when a huge hole lit with various lights expanded before his eyes.
The pit-like tunnel allowed for his entry into the terrain and only when he had fallen into it did it close.
Leaving the region untouched as though nothing significant had occurred.
