Chapter 137
Chapter 137 - Everything Was Arranged by the Heavens
Lan Qingqing found it inconceivable.
Just moments before, she had felt death's grip tightening around her. Yet, in the span of a few breaths, she was completely healed.
She wasn't the only one awestruck by the turn of events.
Uncle Zhang and the other eighteen shareholders were equally astonished!
They were all too familiar with Lan Qingqing's medical prognosis.
They had resigned themselves to the fact that she didn't have much longer to live.
But now, looking at Lan Qingqing, she seemed the picture of health.
“Yes, you are fully recovered,” Ye Hao confirmed with a gentle nod.
The healing potion Ye Hao had given Lan Qingqing was potent enough to heal a severely wounded cultivator, much less an ordinary person like Qingqing.
Gathering her courage, Lan Qingqing attempted a jump.
Previously, such an action would have caused her heart to seize, but now, it beat without a hitch.
“I really am healed,” Lan Qingqing managed to say through her tears.
No one could fathom the depths of Lan Qingqing's suffering or the extent of her fatigue.
For years, constantly hovering at death's door, she thought she had become desensitized to the concept of mortality.
Yet, in this moment, Lan Qingqing was overwhelmed with joy.
Ye Hao cast a glance at the shareholders, who were still reeling from the shock. “I believe some of you recognize me. Yes, I am the one who killed Bai Ruo.”
His words cast a shadow over Uncle Zhang and the rest.
It was clear Ye Hao intended to involve himself in the affairs of the Nubeat Group.
“Even if Bai Ruo was strong, there are rules to follow,” Uncle Zhang grumbled.
“Who told you Bai Ruo was strong?” Ye Hao asked with a chuckle. “He was merely at the Innate Realm. Did you really think he was that formidable?”
As Ye Hao spoke, the tea in front of the attendees transformed into slender streams, converging at the center of the room. Then, to their utter amazement, the tea coalesced into a menacing wolf.
With a roar from the wolf, the meeting room's glass shattered, and Uncle Zhang and the others clutched their ears in agony, writhing on the floor.
As the reverberations of the roar faded, they looked up at Ye Hao, their eyes filled with terror.
They had never witnessed such a magical skill before. The water that had transformed into a wolf mid-air now flowed back into the cups before them, and before their very eyes, it solidified into ice. The room's temperature plummeted as well. Within mere moments, the conference room was a frigid minus ten degrees Celsius.
“What exactly are you trying to accomplish?” Uncle Zhang asked, his teeth chattering.
“As long as you play by the rules, I will too,” Ye Hao replied with composure. “But if you don't, the consequences will be more than you can handle.”
With a wave of his hand, Ye Hao restored the room's temperature to normal. Lan Qingqing, however, hadn't felt the cold at all, thanks to Ye Hao's right hand resting on her shoulder.
“The next steps are up to you,” Ye Hao said, turning to Lan Qingqing.
“I want all of their shares,” Lan Qingqing declared after a brief pause.
“No way.”
“That's outrageous.”
“This is absolutely unacceptable,” Uncle Zhang and the others protested loudly.
None of them had anticipated Lan Qingqing's bold move.
“Everything is predetermined by fate,” Ye Hao stated calmly. “Just as you covet Lan Qingqing's shares, be ready for others to covet yours. You can refuse her offer, but be warned, the cost will be your lives.”
At the sound of Ye Hao's voice, the shareholders, led by Uncle Zhang, shivered. Confronted with the enigmatic and formidable Ye Hao, they had no choice but to transfer their shares to Qingqing.
By now, Qingqing held a staggering ninety-five percent of the shares. She turned to the two shareholders who had always stood by her. “Uncle Lu, Uncle Ma, I'm planning to restructure the group, so I'll need your shares as well.”
The two shareholders managed a strained smile. “Of course,” they agreed.
They understood that in her position, they too would reorganize the group to eliminate any potential risks.
“I'll purchase your shares at a price ten percent above market value,” Lan Qingqing announced, instantly alleviating any bitterness they felt.
It was clear that Lan Qingqing had acted with utmost fairness and generosity.
After Lan Qingqing acquired all the shares of Nubeat Group, she convened a meeting with the company's executives. She promptly dismissed over a dozen of them and appointed a new slate of mid-level managers whom she had previously vetted in secret. By the time Lan Qingqing had wrapped up all her business, it was already eleven o'clock at night.
Lan Qingqing turned to Ye Hao with a look of regret and said, “I'm sorry to have kept you waiting.”
“This is for you,” Ye Hao said, offering her a pendant.
Lan Qingqing accepted the crystal pendant with astonishment. It was clearly worth at least a million yuan.
”Help me put it on,” she requested after examining it, passing the crystal pendant back to Ye Hao.
With a smile, Ye Hao moved behind Lan Qingqing and fastened the pendant around her neck. She glanced at herself in the mirror, her face lighting up with delight.
”It's beautiful.”
“The necklace is certainly beautiful, but it's your own beauty that makes it shine,” Ye Hao complimented her.
“Thank you,” Lan Qingqing responded, meeting his gaze.
“Keep this crystal pendant on at all times, even when you shower. If it ever breaks, just replace the platinum chain.”
“This crystal pendant?” Lan Qingqing had a sudden realization.
“It's a protective talisman,” Ye Hao explained quietly. “Even someone as skilled as Bai Ruo, an Innate cultivator, won't be able to harm you.”
“That powerful?” Lan Qingqing exclaimed, eyes wide with amazement.
Ye Hao had recently advanced to the Blood Refining realm, granting him the ability to craft such protective talismans. While Lan Qingqing was busy with the company, he had gone to the mall and purchased six crystal pendants. However, refining the talisman proved more challenging than he had anticipated. Even with his current level of skill, it had taken him the better part of a day to complete.
The finished talisman was so robust that even an expert at the third layer of the Innate state would struggle to breach its defenses. Ye Hao had given Lan Qingqing the pendant because he knew he couldn't be by her side at all times.
”Understood,” Ye Hao nodded in agreement.
Lan Qingqing paused, about to ask if Ye Hao could stay and protect her, when his phone abruptly rang.
“Zhang Lan?” Ye Hao answered.
“Ye Hao, there's been some trouble,” came the urgent voice of Zhang Lan.
“What's the matter?” Ye Hao felt a sinking feeling in his chest.
“Our school forum has several photos of Tang Pianpian entering a hotel with some guy,” Zhang Lan hurriedly explained.
Upon hearing this, Ye Hao's expression turned grim.
