Chapter 93
Chapter 93 - Threat
When Zhou Boda heard Ye Hao's words, he shot an angry glare at the black-clothed bodyguard.
He had instructed the bodyguard to bring Ye Hao over, but to his surprise, a fight had broken out.
Zhou Boda had rushed over upon hearing the commotion, only to find his fears confirmed: the bodyguard had indeed caused trouble.
“My bodyguard is at fault here. If there's any compensation you require, please let me know,” Zhou Boda offered an apology, promptly suggesting they were prepared to compensate Ye Hao.
“I'll take three of his fingers,” Ye Hao declared. A second later, a sickening crack sounded as the bodyguard's three fingers were broken, eliciting a scream of agony.
“Not only is your bodyguard lacking in strength, but his tolerance for pain is also subpar,” Ye Hao remarked, then struck the bodyguard's neck, causing him to roll his eyes and collapse into unconsciousness.
“I never imagined that your medical expertise was only matched by the pinnacle of your cultivation,” Zhou Boda remarked with a glance at the fallen bodyguard, smiling at Ye Hao.
“You learned about me because Dr. Xu told you about my saving someone, didn't he?” Ye Hao said to Zhou Boda with a knowing smile.
Zhou Boda simply smiled in response, choosing to remain silent.
Ye Hao had no intention of causing trouble for Xu Gan. He turned to Zhou Boda with a smile, “Let's consider our past grievances settled.” He then resumed changing his clothes.
Zhou Boda's face fell.
“I have a rather bold request,” Zhou Boda stepped forward, speaking in a hushed tone.
“Since you've already labeled it as bold, perhaps you should just keep it to yourself,” Ye Hao replied, still smiling.
At that, Zhou Boda was at a loss for words.
He hadn't anticipated Ye Hao's response.
Continuing his conversation, Ye Hao walked past Zhou Boda and headed for the door.
Left with no other choice, Zhou Boda turned and made his way back to the nearby sickroom.
“Where is he?” a major inquired from within the room.
“I didn't bring him here,” Zhou Boda admitted with a wry smile.
“You mean to tell me that with your status, you couldn't even get him to come?” the major asked, furrowing his brow in disbelief.
“Bring him directly here,” commanded an elderly man in military garb, his hair graying. His uniform bore the insignia of two batons and four stars, marking him as a major.
The major nodded in acknowledgment and was about to depart when Zhou Boda interjected, “Hold on.”
”What seems to be the issue?” inquired the major.
“Just remember, no force,” Zhou Boda cautioned.
“Why not?”
“My bodyguard, Hee Yong, was taken down by a single blow from him.”
“Hee Yong is on the combat team, correct?”
“That's right.”
“Well then, this fellow must be quite formidable,” the major mused with a smirk.
Zhou Boda realized then that the major was unlikely to heed his warning. As the major strode away eagerly, Zhou Boda turned to Lee Ann, “I'd advise against letting the major confront him.”
“Do you doubt Sima Rong's ability to handle him?”
“How can I put this?”
“The Sima family is no ordinary clan. Sima Rong will handle him with ease,” Lee Ann said, barely concealing a smile.
Indeed, the Sima family was renowned in the martial arts world, which explained how Sima Rong could serve as Lee Ann's personal guard at such a young age. With Lee Ann's confidence, Zhou Boda held his tongue.
”I'm curious to see what this man is capable of,” Lee Ann remarked. Moments later, a voice echoed at the doorway, followed by a figure bursting through the hospital room door.
Upon seeing the battered Sima Rong, Lee Ann rose to his feet, fully aware of Sima Rong's nearly eight-star level combat prowess. Yet, he had been left swollen and bruised by Ye Hao.
Ye Hao approached with a dark countenance. “So, you're the one they say I shouldn't mess with?” he asked, locking eyes with Lee Ann.
Despite the intensity of Ye Hao's gaze, Lee Ann, seasoned by years of military service, was not intimidated. “I came on behalf of the old commander,” he asserted.
“Are you certain it wasn't you who forcibly brought me here?” challenged Ye Hao.
“It's all a misunderstanding.”
“Whether it's a misunderstanding or not, you owe me an explanation for today's events. Otherwise, I assure you, there will be consequences.”
“What are you planning to do?”
“I'm going to break his legs,” Ye Hao declared, pointing at Sima Rong.
“You wouldn't dare.”
“Why wouldn't I?” Ye Hao retorted and began to approach Sima Rong.
But halfway there, Ye Hao halted in his tracks.
“Take one more step, and don't expect any courtesy from me,” Lee Ann warned, his handgun aimed at Ye Hao.
Ye Hao had stopped because he heard the unmistakable click of the safety being released.
With his keen vision, Ye Hao could easily spot the bullets loaded in the pistol.
“If you're so capable, shoot me in the head,” Ye Hao challenged, indicating his own forehead.
Lee Ann had never encountered someone so brazen.
“If you're not up to it, then put your gun away,” Ye Hao said icily.
“Lee Ann, put your gun away,” commanded a robust voice at that moment. An elderly man, leaning on a walking stick, emerged from within.
His gait was unsteady, but his gaze was piercing.
“True to the saying, ‘heroes emerge from youth,'” the old man commended, looking at Ye Hao.
“Now that the person behind this has appeared, isn't it time you gave me some justice?” Ye Hao demanded without a trace of fear.
“What justice are you seeking?” the old man inquired.
“He instigated this. I can overlook it out of respect for you. But the insults to my parents demand an explanation,” Ye Hao insisted, locking eyes with the old man.
A shadow crossed the old man's face. “Sima Rong, did you insult his parents?”
“I did insult his parents,” Sima Rong admitted after a moment of silence.
“Apologize to Ye Hao.”
“No,” Sima Rong refused, shaking his head.
“I'm telling you to apologize to him,” the old man bellowed, enraged.
“As a member of the Sima family, I will not apologize to anyone,” Sima Rong stated emphatically.
“Fine, if that's how it is, you are no longer my guard from this moment forward,” the old man declared gravely.
“Mr. Hee,” Sima Rong was taken aback, not expecting such harshness from the chief he had served for three years.
“Very well, then this is where we part ways,” Sima Rong said as he rose to leave.
Yet, as Sima Rong walked past Ye Hao, he found his path blocked.
“Hold on. Our business isn't settled yet.”
“Perhaps you're unaware of the consequences of assaulting a major?”
“True, I don't know what assaulting a major entails, but I do understand the implications of threatening a major general.”
Major General?
Sima Rong was taken aback. When had he threatened Mr. Hee?
Though Hee Bisheng was a civilian, he held the rank of major general.
Even with the Sima family's background in martial arts, Sima Rong wouldn't dare to casually provoke someone of such high rank and influence.
Hee Bisheng was equally shocked. He wondered, “When did Sima Rong threaten me?”
