Chapter 168 - Her Blood Type
Chapter 168: Her Blood Type
“There are no other symptoms in the early stages of this disease. It’s similar to what you have now. Later, tell your parents to come for a check up as well.”
As Pei Xin spoke, he took out a box of lozenges from the pocket of his white robe and gave her one. “Keep it in your mouth. You can only drink water after two hours.”
As he spoke, he closed the lid and placed it in her pocket.
Now, they could only wait for the pathology report to come out before they could start the surgery.
However, Gu Chu’s respiratory tract had a moderate infection after she was trapped in the fire. Her red blood cells and other indexes had not fully returned to the normal range yet, so if they really wanted to carry out the surgery, they would have to wait until she had recovered from the infection before they could do it.
Fortunately, medical science was advanced now. There was no need to cut open her abdomen. It could be done with laparoscopy.
Pei Xin was still at work and could not leave the department for too long. Before he went back, he remembered something. “Gu Chu, should I prepare blood just in case? What is your blood type?”
Gu Chu shook her head. “I don’t know. I’ve never checked before.”
Although she did her physical examination every year, she didn’t check her blood type.
She said nonchalantly, “My parents are B and O. I must be one of the two.”
But Pei Xin couldn’t just choose randomly. He said, “Later, get the nurse to draw some blood for a blood type test.”
Gu Chu said, “Don’t tell my parents that I’m in the hospital.”
Pei Xin smiled. “You’ve grown up. You know how to report good news but not bad news.”
Gu Chu had already returned to the hospital bed. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to report the bad news, but she already knew her position in the family, so she didn’t want to be pitied.
After repeated failures, if she still could not protect herself, then she was really too stupid.
Feng Jia remembered the time. Two hours later, he poured a cup of warm water for her to drink. “Are you in a bad mood?”
Gu Chu snorted. “I thought I was really pregnant.”
She was a little disappointed. “I don’t understand. Why did Feng Huai insist that I was?”
If he hadn’t said it so confidently, she wouldn’t have this misunderstanding.
She reached out and hooked his belt. “Ask him for me.”
Feng Jia: “You want to have a child?”
Gu Chu looked down. “Not that.”
She didn’t want Feng Jia to misunderstand. She bought condoms to avoid this. She stepped back and said, “It might be difficult to explain this feeling to you. It’s like... I didn’t want to have sex here, but you insisted, so I started to get in the mood. But we realized that we forgot the condom in the middle of making out, don’t you think that would be disappointing?”
Feng Jia covered her mouth. “When can you be more ladylike?”
Gu Chu snorted. “In the next life.”
He was the one who mentioned it last night.
They were two peas in a pod.
However, Gu Chu was not in the mood to continue the banter. She held her chest with some lingering fear. “It’s fine if the child is gone. It’s fine if I make a fool of myself in public, but now I have to go into surgery. It makes me sad just thinking about it.”
“It’s just a minor surgery. It won’t be a problem.” He pinched her cheek. “Or should I transfer you to a private hospital?”
A private doctor’s post-operative care was more thorough, and the facilities were more complete.
Gu Chu thought for a moment, but she shook her head. “Forget it. I’m more afraid of other people performing surgery on me. I’ll feel more at ease if Pei Xin is my chief surgeon.”
Lin Yu, who had just walked in, heard this. “What do you mean by performing a surgery?”
Gu Chu raised her head and glanced at Feng Jia.
Although they worked together last night, their relationship did not seem to have changed. They only nodded slightly in greeting.
She grew up with most of the people around her. Therefore, Gu Chu’s feelings for Lin Yu were almost the same as his feelings for Meng Lang.
Moreover, she did not think that Lin Yu had any other feelings toward her. However, Feng Jia was certain that he had feelings for her.
In order to appease the King of Jealousy, she subconsciously distanced herself from Lin Yu.
“Lin Yu.”
Lin Yu asked with concern, “How are you?”
“I’m fine. I’ve troubled yesterday.”
Lin Yu paused, then smiled faintly. “In that case, it would be wrong for me not to help, right?”
“But I still have to thank you. You’ve helped me so much. We’ll treat you to a meal later.”
Feng Jia raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Gu Chu in surprise.
Gu Chu raised her eyes and looked back at him. Feng Jia, I treated you well, right?
How should you repay me?
