You're My Only Star

As the meeting ended, the producers began to pack their belongings and leave one by one. Song Xing Xing sat on the swiveling chair with her eyes still focusing on the computer screen. 

Seeing that the girl did not make a move to leave, Producer Ming rapped his knuckle on the table to get her attention. 

Looking up, Song Xing Xing found that the producer was staring back at her. Her eyes blinked in confusion.

"Song Xing Xing, everyone had already left. Are you not going to leave?" 

She started to look around and found that there were only the two of them left in the meeting room. Song Xing Xing gathered her belongings and leave the room. 

As she entered the office, the phone in her hand started to buzz. Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing the name on her phone screen. Worried that someone might see something, Song Xing Xing covered her phone with both hands before she started to hide in a corner.

The phone in her hand continued to buzz. Song Xing Xing looked at the name on the screen again and frowned.

She had forgotten that Lu Xun had saved his number to her phone that morning. Fortunately, no one had seen her phone earlier. Or else, they would surely ask about this 'Lu Xun' in her contact book.

Song Xing Xing hesitated for a few seconds before she finally swiped her finger on the screen.

"Hello. Xing Xing?" 

Her heart skipped a beat upon hearing the man's familiar voice. Hearing his voice through the phone gave her a different feeling and it made her grew flustered.

"Un. Hello."

"You're still at the studio, right?"

"Un. The meeting with the producers just ended." 

At this time, her ears picked up the sound of footsteps heading in her direction. Song Xing Xing turned and saw that a few coworkers are leaving the office. She gave them a tiny wave with one hand and held her phone tighter with another.

Seeing that the others had walked past the area, Song Xing Xing let out a breath in relief.

"Wait for me," Lu Xun said. "I will arrive at the studio soon to pick you up."

"Oh." Song Xing Xing continued to look at her surroundings with sorry. She did not know why but she was a little worried that the others would know that she was speaking to Lu Xun.

Seeing that the others had walked past the area, Song Xing Xing let out a breath in relief.

"Then, I will wait for you at the side door, alright?"

"Un. I know." Song Xing Xing finally exhaled a breath of relief once the phone call ended. After a few seconds have passed, she then realized that she had agreed to wait for him to pick her up.

Worried that someone might see them together later, Song Xing Xing quickly headed to the office to pack her stuff. As she pushed the door to the office, she ran into both Liu Yu Sheng and Ning Yan who were on their way out.

"Xing Xing!" Liu Yu Sheng smiled when she saw her friend. "Where have you been? I have been looking for you. Do you want to head home together?"

"No need." Song Xing Xing let out a cough. "That… My brother will come and pick me up in a while."

Liu Yu Sheng had seen Song Yi came to the studio to pick up Song Xing Xing previously. Thinking that her cousin was going to pick her up, Liu Yu Sheng finally left with Ning Yan.

As her friends leave the office, Song Xing Xing could not help but feel that there was something strange with Liu Yu Sheng. That girl seemed as if she was very anxious when she had run into her.

Song Xing Xing quickly cleared her thoughts and went over to her seat to gathered her stuff. Then, she walked stealthily and headed to the side door. When she arrived, Lu Xun's vehicle was already parked at the door. 

As she walked closer, Lu Xun came out and helped her with the door. 

Song Xing Xing glanced at the man's face before she slid into the car. As she fastened her seatbelt, she watched as Lu Xun slid behind the wheels.

A slight frown appeared on her face. Song Xing Xing thought that there was something strange about this man.

Although Lu Xun still had that smile on his face, Song Xing Xing thought that his expression was a little strange. At least, he was not as happy as he was in the morning.

It seemed as if… Lu Xun was unhappy about something.

Could it be that there was a problem at work?

The car started to move to leave the studio but Song Xing Xing's eyes stayed on Lu Xun. She wanted to ask him what was on his mind but worry that it would be awkward. She did not want Lu Xun to think that she is a busybody.

"Why... are you looking at me like that?"

Song Xing Xing snapped out of her trance upon hearing his voice. Her cheek blushed as she realized that she has been caught staring. "Nothing."

His lips tilted up into a smile. However, as Lu Xun recalled his conversation with his friend earlier that day, the smile on his face gradually stiffened. He really did not know what he was supposed to do with this information.

The person who posed a danger to Song Xing Xing was now found and taken away. However, he did not know whether he should break the news to her or continue to keep this information from her.

Lu Xun had a feeling that Song Xing Xing would be furious if she found out that he has been lying to her.

A sigh escaped him. Lu Xun tightened his grip on the steering and spoke, "Song Xing Xing, what do you want to eat for dinner? Let's go and have a meal together."

She waved her hand quickly. "No need. I can whip something for myself."

Lu Xun glanced at the person beside him again. "Accompany me for dinner alright? I have something important to talk to you about." 

Song Xing Xing recalled the unhappy look on his face and thought that she should not reject his invitation. After weighing her decision for a while, Song Xing Xing finally nodded.. "Alright."
