You're My Only Star

"Look at Xiao Jun. The moment he saw his Auntie Xing Xing, he no longer wants his mother." Han Yue Xiu looked at his son and sighed. She stretched her hand to touch Xiao Jun's chubby cheek, but the baby ignored her and continued to babble in his baby's words. The baby's attention was fully on her Auntie Xing Xing.

Song Xing Xing looked at the baby on her left side and continued to play with him. She then raised her head and looked at Han Yue Xiu. "Sister-in-law, what did my Cousin Brother give you for your birthday?"

Han Yue Xiu flashed her a mysterious smile. "You want to know?" She watched Song Xing Xing nodded and took out something from her pocket.

Song Xing Xing looked at the candy in her sister-in-law's hand and was dumbfounded.

Wasn't that just a white rabbit candy? Song Yi was so rich but he only gave his wife some candy on her birthday. Song Xing Xing could not help but look down on her cousin.

At this time, the waiters came into the room to deliver the food they ordered.

The little boy watched the plates of food was carried inside the room with his eyes widened. As the food was served on the table, Xiao Jun's started to drool.

However, he was too young and could not eat the food that the adult ate. In the end, his mother had to trick him to eat his baby's food. 

As Lu Xun was presented, Song Yi continued to discuss some business with him. Hearing that Lu Xun was interested in the industry he was in, Song Yi became excited to continue and talk about his current project. Because Han Yue Xiu had previously worked with Song Yi's company, she had given her input on their conversation as well.

Seeing that the husband and wife were discussing something with each other, Lu Xun sneaked to pick up a dish and placed it on Song Xing Xing's bowl.

His movement startled her. Song Xing Xing raised his head and heaved a breath of relief upon seeing that her cousin and sister-in-law did not notice the little act.

Song Xing Xing shot a warning gaze to Lu Xun but the man had continued to act as if he did not know anything. 

However, Song Xing Xing failed to realize that there was someone else who had noticed their exchange.

Special Assistant Bei Yuan has decided to mind his own business. 

His boss had asked him to accompany him for dinner. However, they had run into Song Yi instead. Initially, Bei Yuan was feeling uncomfortable knowing that he had crashed someone else birthday party.

However, thinking that perhaps his boss was creating a chance to meet Song Yi to discuss business, Bei Yuan decided that he should not be complaining.

But the scene he had witnessed just now…

Suddenly, Bei Yuan recalled that he had seen his boss browsing through some dating tips website.

It seemed that he had discovered some shocking secret!

Various thoughts came to his mind and Bei Yuan inhaled a deep breath. He recalled his boss's unpredictable mood the past few days and thought that perhaps it was related to Song Xing Xing.

After thinking about it for a while, Bei Yuan decided that he needed to continue and observe the situation first.

With both Lu Xun and Bei Yuan's presence, the dinner lasted longer than intended. 

When both Song Yi and Han Yue Xiu looked at the time, they realized that they don't have much time to head to the cinema. They still had to send both Song Xing Xing and Xiao Jun back home before they could have a date. 

"Let's just go next time," Han Yue Xiu spoke. "Besides…" She looked at her son and saw that the boy was dozing off in her auntie's embrace. "We won't make it to the cinema."

Lu Xun overheard the couple's conversation and decided to speak. "Why don't I sent back Song Xing Xing and your son back to your place?"

The couple turned to Lu Xun and hesitated. 

"Anyway, I feel bad that my presence had taken a lot of your time. Moreover," Lu Xun paused and smiled. "I already had a free meal. It was the least that I can do to help."

Song Yi glanced at his wife again. He knew well that Han Yue Xiu loved horror movies very much and had been looking forward to watching this new movie. While she was pregnant with Xiao Jun, he had made her stop watching those horror movies and promised that he would not stop her watching them after she had given birth.

He really did not want to disappoint his wife. 

After thinking for a while, Song Yi was tempted by his offer. "You really don't mind."

"I don't."

Song Yi was still a little worried. He turned to look at his cousin and asked for her opinion. "Xing Xing, what do you think?"

Song Xing Xing naturally knew that someone had a hidden agenda. "It's fine. I can look after Xiao Jun," Song Xing Xing spoke to her cousin. "Moreover, Auntie Zhao is at home to help me. Cousin Brother, you go ahead and take my sister-in-law on a date."

Seeing that his cousin had no problem with this, Song Yi quickly convinced his wife to go with their plan. 

After saying their goodbye, Song Xing Xing followed Lu Xun to his car with the baby in her arms. Special Assistant Bei Yuan was driving and both Lu Xun and Song Xing Xing sat at the back.

Lu Xun narrowed his eyes as he looked at the baby who was sleeping in his car seat.  "It seemed that your relationship with this little boy is pretty good."

"Hmm... I guess I was used to looking after the younger kids in my family," Song Xing Xing said and smiled. "They used to call me the king of kids among the family."

Lu Xun seemed to remember the last time he had visited the Song's old residence. At that time, he had watched Song Xing Xing played with the younger kids. Everyone seemed as if they got along with her alright.

"What are you planning to do this weekend? Let's do something together."

Assistant Bei Yuan overheard his boss's conversation and quickly let out a cough. "President Lu, you are scheduled to head to T Country tomorrow for a business meeting." Seeing that his boss was throwing him a dagger look, Bei Yuan decided to focus on his driving. 

"I forgot that I won't be around for a few days," Lu Xun heaved a long sigh.

Song Xing Xing laughed as she watched the two's interaction. Seeing the hint of disappointment in Lu Xun's eyes, Song Xing Xing quickly spoke, "Since you are going to T Country, please bring me back a few souvenirs."

The disappointment in his eyes swiftly disappeared at her words.
