You're My Only Star

A loud gasp echoed in the room. 

No one recalled who was the person who had mentioned that Dynasty Restaurant is one of the high-end restaurants in Capital City. However, once they heard about the cost of the food served in the restaurant, everyone got curious. The group of people gathered around the table to look at the food stacked on the table.

Song Xing Xing naturally has visited the restaurant before. Dynasty Restaurant is one of the restaurants under the GDB Group. The place is quite expensive. With her salary working as a video editor, it would be impossible for her to eat at such a place. However... Song Xing Xing was sure that this restaurant did not offer take-out.

At this time, Someone opened took off the lid of the box. The delicious aroma from the food wafted into the air, making them salivate. There were various types of side dishes in each box. Someone was complimenting the delicate dim sum and someone else was amazed by the size of the prawn.

Liu Yu Sheng turned around. Her expression was a mix of surprise and excitement. "Xing Xing, you tell me, we are not dreaming, are we?" She turned to the secretary and asked, "Secretary Pan, is it? Are you sure you deliver this to the right place?"

Secretary Pan nodded. "I'm sure. President Lu instructed me to deliver the lunch boxes to everyone in the studio."

Once Secretary Pan knew what kind of place is Dynasty Restaurant, he was a little dumbfounded as well. He had thought that perhaps President Lu had made a mistake. However, Assistant Bei Yuan had said that this was not a mistake.

Since Assistant Bei Yuan had said that this is what the President had instructed, naturally, Secretary Pan would follow his words.

"Oh god! Why is President Lu so generous? Liu Yu Sheng turned to her friend. "Xing Xing, do you think that he's sending us the last meal before he kills us all?"

The corner of her lips began to twitch. "Yu Sheng, I know that we are now working on a mystery drama. But you don't have to think like this."

Producer Ming watched the lunch boxes on the table with a dazed expression. Even though he had often met with investors to discuss their project, Producer Ming had never stepped into this fancy restaurant.

Just like everyone else, Producer Ming was having a hard time believing that President Lu was treating everyone in the studio to this expensive place.

Seeing that everyone else was looking at the lunch boxes, Produce Ming pulled the secretary aside. "Secretary Pan, why is President Lu treating us to this meal?"

"I don't know." Secretary Pan answered honestly. "Assistant Bei Yuan mentioned that the President was in a good mood. I'm guessing that the President was happy with the public reception on Huo Yun Chen's upcoming drama."

Producer Ming was forced to accept this reason. Anyway, he could not come out with another possible reason.

Then, everyone started to move to pick up their lunch boxes.

Song Xing Xing sat in a corner and ate her lunch with everyone else. The taste of each dish was fresh and tasty. Thinking about the person who had treated her to this good meal made her smile.

Just as she had put down the lunch box, her phone at the side started to buzz.

Her eyes brightened when she saw the caller ID. Seeing that everyone was chatting happily, Song Xing Xing sneaked out of the room and went to a quiet corner. She slid her finger on the screen to take the call.

"Did you have your lunch?" His voice was heard on the other line. 

"En."

Even though he could not see her face, Lu Xun could almost imagine the girl was smiling shyly as she pressed her phone to her ear. As he imagined this scene, the corner of his lips tilted up.

"What about you? Have you eaten?"

"Not yet. I'll be having my lunch with a few people after this."

Song Xing Xing quickly understood that he will be having lunch to discuss business.

"Then, how is the food? Is it good? I remember that you seem to like seafood."

Her lips curled into a smile. Which girl would not be happy upon knowing that the other remember what she liked?

Suddenly, Song Xing Xing seemed to recall that there were a few times when a plate of seafood would suddenly appear in front of her when Lu Xun joined them for a meal. Each time the seafood in front of her would be the biggest and freshest.

Song Xing Xing quickly linked the few occasions to Lu Xun.

Doesn't this mean that Lu Xun has been paying attention to her from the beginning?

When did it start? Why didn't she know about this?

Thinking about this made her feel a little giddy and shy. A warm feeling spread through her body, making her feel a little feverish.

Was it really as he had said? Lu Xun was attracted to her from the beginning, but he wanted to push her away because he had his own worry and insecurities. 

"The food was really good. Thank you," Song Xing Xing said. "Actually, you shouldn't spend too much on our lunch. It's fine if you do it this one time, but I hope that you won't do this again."

"You don't like it?" His tone of voice sounded unhappy. 

Lu Xun had done his homework and found out that a lot of girls liked it when their boyfriend gave them a surprise. A way to someone's heart was through their stomach.

Song Xing Xing seemed to be a foodie as well. Therefore, he had thought that the girl would like it when he sent her and her co-workers a lunch box from Dynasty Restaurant.

"It's not that I did not like it. It's just that it would feel a little strange if you buy them for everyone else. My friend, Liu Yu Sheng actually thought that you were sending us one last meal before you were going to kill us."

Lu Xun chuckled when he heard her words.

"If you continue to buy us more expensive food, everyone would think that there's something wrong with you," Song Xing Xing said.

Lu Xun thought that her words made a lot of sense. "You're right. Then, I will listen to you."

Now that he thought about it, Song Xing Xing seemed to like to keep things low profile.. It seemed that he had to find out another way to chase this girl.
