You're My Only Star

The conversation between Song Xing Xing and President Lu Xun lasted for about five minutes.

When the girl left the private room, Special Assistant Bei Yuan watched her retreating with an unreadable expression on his face. Once he saw that the girl had turned to a corner, Bei Yuan pushed oven the door and entered the room.

"President Lu Xun," he greeted. Bei Yuan watched as his employer stood to watch the scenery outside the window and wondered what was the man thinking about.

A while ago, he was surprised when his boss had instructed him to arrange a private meeting with the new employee without explaining why. Special Assistant Bei Yuan's thoughts went wild and he began to suspect that his boss finally showed interest in a woman.

He looked at Song Xing Xing and thought that perhaps his boss was someone who fancied a pure, younger girl.

However, once he saw that the woman had left the room in five minutes, Special Assistant Bei Yuan realized that perhaps he was thinking too much.

But this does not mean that he was not curious to know why did his boss want to see the woman in private.

"The others are heading to KTV," Bei Yuan reported. "Are you going as well?"

Lu Xun thought about it for a while and nodded. "I'll head over and spend a few minutes with them before leaving."

Bei Yuan nodded. He then texted the driver to inform him about their boss's plan. Then, he trailed after his boss and walked out of the room. As they were walking towards the elevator, Bei Yuan could not help but steal a few glances at his boss. After a while, he could no longer suppress his curiosity.

"President Lu Xun. About that employee just now… so you have any further instruction?"

Lu Xun looked at his assistant and pondered upon his question. "No."

Hearing his boss's answer, Special Assistant Bei Yuan could only heave a disappointed sigh. It seemed that his guess was wrong.

When Song Xing Xing returned to the dining room, her friend Liu Yu Sheng and a few others were waiting for her.

Liu Yu Sheng gave her a look over and raised a brow. "What took you so long? Stomachache?"

Song Xing Xing nodded because she was too lazy to explain. Anyway, it would be too troublesome to explain the reason their big boss was looking for her.

"Everyone will go to KTV to continue the party," Liu Yu Sheng said. "Later, we will be separated into a few rooms. Xing Xing, are you going?"

Song Xing Xing raised her head and saw the anticipation look on her friend's gaze. She thought of how her misunderstanding with her big boss was finally cleared and her mood improved. "I'm going. There's free food and drinks. Why wouldn't I go?"

After gathering their staff, Song Xing Xing and the others went left the restaurant and headed to their next destination. When they arrived, Song Xing Xing joined the other post-production crew in a room.

Everyone wanted to show their talent in singing. Therefore, it was a good thing that they were arranged into a smaller number of groups.

The moment they arrived, Song Xing Xing saw that the others had picked a few songs to sing. At the thought that it will be a while before it was her turn to shine, Song Xing Xing picked up her phone and wanted to login into her games.

Before she could tap her finger on the icon, Song Xing Xing realized that there was a text message from her cousin. Song Yi was inviting her to join his little family to return to Y City for the new year celebration.

It did not take her too long to figure out that this was her sister-in-law's idea.

Song Xing Xing quickly replied to his messages and agreed. Her thought went back to her conversation with her boss earlier and Song Xing Xing could not resist sending him a few questions.

It did not take Song Yi a long time to return her message with a phone call. Song Xing Xing did not want to speak to her frightening cousin, but she figured out that if she did not pick up the phone call, it would become more troublesome. She then left the room and headed outside the building to answer the call.

"How did you know about the other person's identity?" Song Yi's voice was heard the moment the phone call was connected.

When Song Xing Xing was taken to the police station, she was unaware that the other party was President Lu Xun from NEXT Group. Seeing that his cousin was not interested in the other party, Song Yi did not make an effort to explain.

It was a surprise that her cousin would text him and inquire him about the person's identity.

"I ran into him just now and we exchanged a few words," Song Xing Xing explained. "Brother, I did not expect that the two of you are an acquaintance."

"He's a friend of a friend. This is how the matter was resolved quickly." Song Yi recalled the words that her cousin had spoken. "You run into him?"

"Mhm… Brother, you should know that I got myself a new job at this new studio," Song Xing Xing spoke. "I was surprised to find out that the person is my big boss."

Song Yi quickly figured out what was going on. "You're working for NEXT Group's new studio?"

The moment the vehicle pulled over, Special Assistant Bei Yuan walked out and helped his boss to open his door. The two then walked over to the KTV's building as President Lu Xun wanted to spend his time caring for his employee before they head home.

As soon as they were near the entrance, Lu Xun's gaze fell on a familiar figure who stood not far away from them. Because Song Xing Xing's back was facing them, she did not notice that her big boss was very close.

Lu Xun looked away and adjusted the glasses on his face. His steps halted upon entering the building.

Just now, he seemed to overheard Song Xing Xing's conversation and knew that she was talking about him. He then recalled Song Xing Xing's identity as well as Song Yu's relationship with his friends.

Suddenly, Lu Xun turned to his assistant and spoke, "About Song Xing Xing… Help me to keep an eye on her."
