You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing sat down at a random place. The banquet table was enough to accommodate around twelve people, but there were only six of them. Therefore, everyone just sat around randomly. Liu Yu Sheng sat on her right and the place on her left was left empty.

The waitress walked in with the menu and Special Assistant Bei Yuan told them to just order anything they like. However, these words only made the others hesitated when they saw the price of each dish.

They wanted to order expensive dishes, but it doesn't feel right since someone else was buying. However, the least expensive dishes were too expensive for them. In the end, they could not make up their mind.

At this time, the door was pushed open. Earlier, the others were still discussing what they should eat. However, the moment their big boss entered the room, everyone turned silent.

Producer Ming stood up, wanting to greet their boss, but was stopped before he could act.

"Just have a seat and be at ease," Lu Xun said. "This is just us having dinner together." He watched the table and walked around before he pulled the chair between Producer Ming and Song Xing Xing.

Noticing that the person had sat down beside her, Song Xing Xing stared back at him and blinked. There were a few empty seats around, but why did this person choose to sit next to her? She peeked at Producer Ming and saw that the seat on his left was empty.

"Why is everyone looking at me? Just order anything that you like." Lu Xun looked at the menu and looked up again. "Otherwise, how about I ordered for everyone instead?"

The staff exchanged a look with each other and finally stopped at Producer Ming. The elder man understood their gaze and spoke, "President Lu, we'll just let you decide."

Lu Xun waved his hand at the waitress and ordered a few dishes after confirming their preferences and allergies. Once the waitress walked away, Lu Xun turned to Producer Ming and chatted a little bit.

As the others were chatting among themselves, Song Xing Xing looked at her phone and browsed through a few sites.

"Is it normal for you guys to come and work in the evening?"

Song Xing Xing heard the voice was so close to her ear and turned. Her gaze met with Lu Xun and she was momentarily stunned. The man was still looking at her and Song Xing Xing figured that he was waiting for her answer. She swiftly composed herself and nodded. "Mhm… the shooting was done in the morning. We can't look at the footage until the shooting was done anyway. It doesn't make sense if we come to work in the morning. It's better to come in the evening when the shooting is done."

Lu Xun quickly looked away towards the others. "Then, you can only return home late at night?" If he was not mistaken, then the post-production team will only return home when the sky was still dark. Wouldn't that be dangerous?

When he had started the studio, Lu Xun had made his impulse decision. He saw that his entertainment agency was doing well and thought that he wanted to try investing in a studio. He merely took a glance at the plan and gave his green light. He never tried to learn too much about others.

As long as he could recruit the right person and understood the fundamental of this business, everything should be alright. Moreover, he did not mind about the profit and loss. He had made a lot of investment in another field that was profitable enough to cover for other businesses.

"Some of us usually stayed around until daybreak," another staff answered.

"Most of them are night owls and are more comfortable to do their work when there was no one around," Producer Ming said.

Lu Xun glanced at the person beside him and wondered if she was a night owl as well.

As the group started to chat with their big boss, their mood in the room started to ease up. They had not thought that their big boss would be a friendly person and easy to get along with. He's definitely different from what they imagine a president of a big company would be.

Soon, the waitress returned and served their food and drinks. Their good atmosphere between the staff and the big boss continued as they enjoyed their food and drinks.

The staff looked at the dishes on the table and was happy to see that there was a lot of seafood on the table. The prawn dishes especially were fat and fresh.

Song Xing Xing picked up the fat prawn and used her hand to peel the prawn. The sauce stuck to her fingers and Song Xing Xing licked at them once she saw that the others were not looking at her. However, once she turned to her left again, Song Xing Xing realized that Lu Xun had seen the way she had done.

Suddenly, she was embarrassed and did not know what she should do.

If she was with the others, Song Xing Xing would not care much about how the others are going to view her. However, Lu Xun was someone who knew her secret.

Song Xing Xing slowly raised the peeled prawn in her hand and asked, "President Lu, do you want me to help you peel some prawn?"

The corner of his lips twitched. He had watched her licked her fingers and then, touched the prawn with the same hand. If he did not know her secret, Lu Xun would never link Song Xing Xing with the Song family from Y City. The way she acted was nothing like the other young miss he met.

Lu Xun glanced at the prawn and quietly looked away.

Seeing that the man was no longer looking at her, Song Xing Xing ate her prawn in silence.

Liu Yu Sheng stared at her friend and nudged at her waist. "What's going on with you?"

Song Xing Xing let out a sigh in frustration. The moment she noticed that the man was looking at her, she became muddleheaded and offered the prawn in her hand.

She inched closer to her friend and whispered, "You try and switch seat with me and see how much pressure sitting beside the big boss will give you."

Liu Yu Sheng straightened up her posture and shook her head. "No. No. I'm fine."

Once dinner ended, Lu Xun watched as the others shared their ride to head back to the studio and turned to his assistant.. "Bei Yuan, tomorrow, recruit a few more people to guard at night."
