You're My Only Star

Due to the incident, none of them had the mood to continue and work. The president allowed them to delay their work, go home and come back in the morning. Unfortunately for the guards, they had to stay around and look after the place.

Seeing that everyone had dispersed to leave, Lu Xun went to his office upstairs and grabbed a document that he needed. When he returned to his car, a few of the staff were gathered at the entrance. There were three of them. Lu Xun noticed that Song Xing Xing was among them and walked over.

"Why are you guys still here?"

The group turned around when they heard their big boss's voice.

"President Lu." The three of them greeted them simultaneously.

"There is no public bus at this time," Liu Yu Sheng said. "We're discussing how we should go back."

"I offered to give them a lift," Ning Yan, spoke. "But the two of them live in the opposite direction."

Lu Xun glanced at Song Xing Xing as he listened to their discussion. After a while, he turned to Ning Yan and spoke, "How about this… Help me send Miss Liu back. I'll send Miss Song to her place."

The three of them exchanged their glances before they agreed.

Song Xing Xing followed Lu Xun to his car and turned around. From the distance, she could see Liu Yu Sheng sending a strange signal at her. Song Xing Xing rolled her eyes and pretended that she did not see anything.

"Come on in."

Turning around, Song Xing Xing was surprised to see that Lu Xun had helped her with the door. Although this was not the first time that she will sit in his car, Song Xing Xing still felt a little awkward.

"Tell me your address," Lu Xun spoke as soon as he slid into the driver's seat.

Song Xing Xing hesitated for a moment before she told him another address. As the car started to move, Song Xing Xing leaned on her seat and looked out at the scenery outside.

It was past midnight and there were not a lot of vehicles on the road. Most of the buildings were dark and the road was only illuminated by the streetlight.

The road home was quiet.

Song Xing Xing's mind was filled with what she had seen earlier that night and she could not stop thinking about it. This was the first time that she had seen such things and it was not easy to get over it. Even if she closed her eyes, the image would appear in her mind again. Song Xing Xing had a hunch that she might not be able to get her sleep when she headed home.

"Are you sure this is where you live?"

Song Xing Xing snapped out of her trance. She turned to the voice and found that Lu Xun was looking straight at her. His question echoed in her mind. Song Xing Xing looked out the window again and saw that she had reached her destination.

She reached to open the door and looked at Lu Xun again. "I should get off here. President Lu, thank you for the ride."

Lu Xun continued to stare at the person as she crossed the road. His expression changed as he watched her walked to one of the stalls on the roadside and sit down. His eyes narrowed and Lu Xun pushed his glasses with the back of his hand.

Every time he gave her a ride home, this girl would always wander off somewhere else. Does she like running away from home that much?

After pondering about the situation for a while, Lu Xun found a parking spot and get off his car. Since she can be considered a family of his friend, Lu Xun thought that he should not leave her alone. If something happened to her, wouldn't he have to answer to her cousin, Song Yi? Anyway, Song Yi had asked him to look after his cousin when he found out that she will be working for his studio.

Song Xing Xing was staring at her lamb kebab skewers happily when she noticed that someone pulled the chair beside her and sat down. She was about to scold that person when she noticed that the person was her big boss.

Her eyes widened. "President Lu… why are you here?"

Lu Xun did not answer her question right away. He called the auntie and ordered himself some food and drinks. Once the auntie went away, he turned to Song Xing Xing and spoke, "Then, what about you? Why are you here? Don't tell me that you're running away from home?"

Song Xing Xing looked away and picked up a skewer. "After going through tonight, I don't think that I will be able to stay at home alone. I will keep on thinking about it. I don't want to be alone. It's better to hang out around here for a while. At least the lights are bright and the surroundings are lively."

He looked around his surroundings and noticed that the surrounding around this area was indeed lively. The auntie returned to their table to deliver his drink. Lu Xun poured his drink into the glass but did not pick it up and drink.

"Your cousin, Song Yi lives somewhere around here, right? Why don't you head over to his place?"

"Just look at the time." Song Xing Xing heaved a sigh. "If I showed up at a time like this, I would be interrupting Xiao Jun's sleep."

"Xiao Jun?"

"Their six months son." Song Xing Xing flashed him a smile.

Lu Xun lowered his head and took a sip on his drinks. "How long are you planning to stay here?"

"Until the sky turned bright. Don't worry. The owner of the stall is really nice. They won't chase me away."

"It sounded like you've done things like this a couple of times."

Song Xing Xing stared at him in surprise. She looked away and took a sip at her drink. In the past, whenever she did not want to be alone, Song Xing Xing would frequently come over to this road. This particular lamb skewers stall is her favorite.

"You don't have to stay around. President Lu, I'll be fine."

Lu Xun looked at the girl beside him and thought that he should not believe her words. Even now, he could sense that she was rattled after that incident. He could still remember the time he found her outside the office. Her face was pale and her body shook in fear

Even if he wanted to leave her alone, Lu Xun found that he was unable to do it.
