You're My Only Star

These past few days, Yan Yi Xie could no sit still.

He had hired some people to investigate Huo Yun Chen and found out what he was up to but none of them was able to find out anything.

Huo Yun Chen's career began to take off again and the fans who said that they would no longer support him were now keeping their silence.

These days, every news on Huo Yun Chen was nothing but positive. This made Yan Yi Xie restless. In a few weeks, the Top Music Award was going to name their candidates. Through his manager, Yan Yi Xie had already heard that Huo Yun Chen would be nominated.

He did not want that to happen. He needed to stop Huo Yun Chen before the award committee start to announce Huo Yun Chen's name. He did not want to give Huo Yun Chen a chance to make his name bigger in the industry.

His eyes narrowed.

Initially, Yan Yi Xie had decided to stop playing dirty. However, Huo Yun Chen suddenly decided to return to the entertainment industry.

If only Huo Yun Chen continued to stay where he was, he would not have to do these things.

A sharp knock was heard coming from the door, snapping Yan Yi Xie out of his trance. He peeked at the door and heaved in relief when he saw that his assistant, Ah Wei had returned.

"What took you so long?" Yan Yi Xie asked as he stepped aside to let the assistant in. "What about the thing that I asked to do? Did you talk to those people? What did they say?"

Ah Wei hesitated. His expression did not look right. However, Yan Yi Xie did not notice anything wrong with him.

"What?" Yan Yi Xie's gaze turned sharper. "What is it?"

The assistant took a deep breath before he spoke, "I didn't get to meet them."

"Why not?"

"When I arrived at that place there was a group of policemen gathered outside the building," Ah Wei said.

Instantly, Yan Yi Xie's face turned pale and his eyes widened. "What?" Cold sweat formed on his back. His heart raced and it was not for a good reason.

"I stayed outside just long enough to hear the people talking about them," Ah Wei said. "It was said that the police had evidence that the group of people was involved in some crimes. When I arrived at the scene, the policemen were searching through the place and brought out a lot of documents."

"What?"

"I also heard rumors that those people were involved in drugs."

"What drugs? We are not involved in those dirty things." Yan Yi Xie swallowed. He was no longer able to focus on what his assistant had said to him. All sorts of things went through his mind and it was making him scared.

"If the police found out something or if those guys said something, we might also..."

"Shut up!" Yan Yi Xie warned before his assistant could finish what he wanted to say. His face grew stern. "Those people would know to keep their mouth shut."

Although Yan Yi Xie tried to assure his assistant that everything would be fine, deep inside, he was too frightened that he too would be implicated and his deeds in the past would be revealed to the police.

After all, he had hired that group of people a few times to do something for him. They had worked for him for years. Each time, it was to harm his rival. Each time that he found someone to be an eyesore, Yan Yi Xie would hire the group of thugs to scare his rivals.

Yan Yi Xie took a few deep breaths to calm down. Grabbing the remote control, he turned on the television and switched to the news channel. Then, he took his phone and started to browse through a few websites.

Seeing that there was no one reporting the news, Yan Yi Xie was finally at ease.

He turned to his assistant and spoke. "Go back. These few days, try to lay low. Don't mention anything to anyone."

Yan Yi Xie spent the rest of his days checking the news portal to see if any of them was going to report on the police's arrest in the afternoon.

Just when he had thought that he was safe. The anchor suddenly reported breaking news.

It was said that earlier that day, the police had raided a small company and found evidence that they were involved in all sorts of crimes.

The shocking matter was that a well-known celebrity was said to have used their services a few times to harm another.

However, the identity of that celebrity was not revealed. The police only said that they were still investigating the matter and would give another statement soon.

On social media, the netizen was discussing this well-known celebrity and tried to guess his identity. A lot of names popped up including his.

The news scared Yan Yi Xie so much that he had accidentally dropped the glass in his hand. His body was trembling and he could not think straight.

Yan Yi Xie did not want to believe that the group of thugs would keep anything with them that could implicate him. However, he was still scared.

His mind whirled as he tried to think of what he should do now.

"I heard that Yan Yi Xie's assistant was at the scene when the police came to raid that place," Brother Xiang spoke as he looked at Huo Yun Chen. "Yan Yi Xie should be panicking by now."

"It would be too strange if he did not panic." Huo Yun Chen walked to the kitchen counter and poured himself a glass of water. "Now that he was panicking, he would definitely do something stupid." His lips turned up into a faint smile. "Tomorrow, they would reveal another news that would surprise his fans."

Brother Xiang nodded. "I have already asked someone to trail after his assistant. It would be easier if we could get his assistant to give his statement against Yan Yi Xie. After all, that boy had been with Yan Yi Xie for years. He would know him the best."

"He will talk."

Brother Xiang raised a brow. "How would you know?"

"Ah Wei might have worked for Yan Yi Xie for years, but do you think he was given a good treatment?" Huo Yun Chen sighed as he was reminded of the few times when he had personally witnessed Yan Yi Xie abusing his assistant.

The assistant was a timid boy. Huo Yun Chen believed that Ah Wei would not be willing to betray the celebrity if he was given the chance to escape from being implicated along with Yan Yi Xie.
