You're My Only Star

Huo Yun Chen came out of the station and heaved a long, heavy sigh. Thinking about his encounter with Yan Yi Xie earlier gave him a headache.

He had often wondered if he had perhaps hurt Yan Yi Xie in any way and that was his reason for wanting to hurt him multiple times.

However, that person was only not happy because he was more popular and had received others' recognition. Yan Yi Xie wanted to hurt him simply because of jealousy.

"Brother Huo, Brother Xiang, how is it going?"

Lin You's voice snapped him out of his trance. He turned to the assistant and saw the worry in her face.

"It's done. We won't have to come to the station again but once the trial started, Yun Chen will have to go to the court," Brother Xiang said.

Lin You heaved a sigh in relief. There were a lot of other questions she wanted to ask but seeing that everyone seemed in a bad mood, Lin You could only suppress her curiosity.

"That's right, Brother Huo, Xia Yu called a while ago," Lin You said. "She couldn't reach your phone and called me to ask about you. It seemed that she have found out about this news."

Huo Yun Chen took out his phone and saw that there were three missed calls from his girlfriend. Instead of returning her call immediately, Huo Yun Chen slid his phone back into his pocket.

"I'll call her later," Huo Yun Chen said. "For now, let's go back. I'm too tired."

"Mmm... I'll let you have a week off," Brother Xiang said. "If that's not enough, tell me. Just come back when you are ready."

Brother Xiang could imagine Huo Yun Chen's mental fatigue after this event. These days, a lot of talk shows wanted to invite him over to ask about Yan Yi Xie. However, as the manager, Brother Xiang had declined them all, wanting to give his artist a break. He could only tell everyone that Huo Yun Chen was busy cooperating with the police.

On their way out of the station, there were a few reporters already waiting for him. Fortunately, they managed to avoid them safely and Huo Yun Chen was sent over to the Orchid Hotel where he was currently hiding from the reporters.

Once he arrived in his room, Huo Yun Chen sat on the sofa and leaned back. He closed his eyes and rubbed the space between his brow.

He stayed in that position for a long time before he stood up again. Huo Yun Chen headed over to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water. Once he had moistened his throat, he picked up his phone and dialed Xia Yu's number.

The phone call was connected in a few seconds and Xia Yu's worried voice can be heard on the other line. "Yun Chen?"

"Mmm... It's me."

"Are you still at the police station?"

"No. I went back. These days, I'm staying at the hotel to avoid the reporters."

There was a brief silence between them. Then, Xia Yu spoke again, "Yun Chen, are you alright?" Her voice was soft.

A faint smile curled on his lips. "Mmm... I'm alright. It's just that there are a lot of things to digest at this time."

Hearing his voice, Xia Yu could only wish that she was by his side to give him a hug. She could not imagine what he was feeling at this time. Especially after knowing that the accident a few years ago was not an accident at all.

When he had hurt his legs, Huo Yun Chen was so devastated that he wanted to give up on everything. However, after a few years, he decided to come back.

Although many were doubting that he would regain his former popularity, Huo Yun Chen had worked hard. He was singing, acting, and joining in the reality show that would make him do hard and ridiculous tasks just to prove that there were still fans who were waiting for his come back.

Just when he had gotten popular again, his dating news came out and his fans were threatening to jump ship. It turned out, everything that happened to him was orchestrated by his rival in the industry.

"Xia Yu," Huo Yun Chen heaved a long sigh. "I'm very tired."

"Then, I'll call you back later? You should go and rest for a while."

"No." His chuckle reverberated. "I'm just a little tired with everything around. Xia Yu, do you think I should quit?"

Her heart skipped a beat. Xia Yu certainly did not expect to hear that her boyfriend wanted to give up. She took a deep breath to calm down and spoke, "It's fine if you wanted to quit. I think I can work hard and support you. You can be my house-husband. We might not live in luxury but we will live happily together."

Huo Yun Chen was amused when he heard her idea. "Are you planning to raise me? I'm very expensive."

"Then, I will work harder. The most important thing is that you are happy."

Huo Yun Chen laughed.

Suddenly, he was imagining himself as the house-husband. Xia Yu would head to work while he was staying at home while looking after their child. Just thinking about it gave him indescribable happiness.

"But Yun Chen, I don't want you to give up on doing something you love to do," Xia Yu continued. "I have watched you singing on stage before you have debuted. Huo Yun Chen, you are the brightest star when you were on stage."

Huo Yun Chen lowered his gaze. A faint warm glow appeared in his heart upon hearing her words, heating his body.

"I can see that you were very happy when you were singing and dancing on stage. I won't complain if you quit and stay at home as a house-husband. At least, I can still look at you and enjoy my own private concert every now and then." Xia Yu smiled. "But still, I hope that you can stay where you are the brightest. I want the others to see that the person I love is the brightest star."

"The person you love is me?"

Xia Yu laughed helplessly. She was giving her speech, trying to cheer him up and asking him not to give up. But a certain someone was focusing on something else. "Of course, otherwise, would I still agree to date you?"

"Then, say it again?"

"Huo Yun Chen, I love you. I really, really love you. Not just because you're a celebrity. But I love you for being you. Therefore, whatever you chose to do in the future, I will continue and support you." Her cheek flushed as she finished her words.

Xia Yu was never someone who knew how to say romantic words. Therefore, saying those words easily makes her shy.

Huo Yun Chen smiled widely as he thought of Xia Yu's flushed cheek when she said those words.. He suddenly wished that he could see her face when she said those words to him.
