Chapter 238 - 238 Bison Clobbering
238 Bison Clobbering
‘As expected… Another demon horde to deal with…’ The trembling that he felt on his feet was rather similar to the shaking that he felt when the horde of the necromancer came in near him. So when he felt a similar tremble, Blake already had a guess in his mind that it was the case.
“Is it a big horde?”
“Not really, there’s only about less than a hundred of them.”
“Can they fly, Vera?” Blake asked again as he began formulating a plan in his mind.
“No, they were quadrupeds, I believe there’s an animal called a bison which looked very similar to them.”
After thinking of something, Blake asked another question. “Robus, do you want to participate in this? But you will definitely not come out unscathed though. We’re currently standing on barren lands without any place you could use to break apart their formation.”
“I would never ask this question if it was before, but now that you’ve evolved and your strength was literally off the charts, I believe you would not receive any fatal damages, or at least you could guarantee yourself to stay alive despite our many enemies this time.”
“R.” Of course, Robus decided to participate.
“Alright then let’s do this,” Blake said as he began to share what he had in mind.
.....
Right after the group understood what Blake wanted to do, Vera quickly gave him her approval as she also decided to take part in the plan. They didn’t waste any time as they began moving the moment they all agreed to the plan and knew what role they would be playing.
But other than the fact that they didn’t want to waste any more time traveling in the barren dark land, the plan was also very simple and there were only two very simple roles that they would be playing.
“See you soon pal!” Blake shouted as he and Cyra took off to the sky using their explosions. And of course, Cyra was once again being held in his arms due to her not having a wing of her own yet.
While beside the two people, Vera also flew using her fully developed wings, while staring at the duo beside her with interest. She knew that Blake’s wings were only good to be used to glide in the sky, not flying as it wasn’t capable of generating enough force to propel him upward or against the gravity of the realm.
But then she saw the explosions that appeared in constant intervals underneath Blake’s and Cyra’s feet, causing them to regain the height that they had lost due to gravity using those explosions as a propelling force.
The three people flew together as they followed the direction that Vera had pointed earlier, going directly into the horde of bison that traversed the dark barren land underneath them.
After hearing the demonic beasts were quadrupeds that didn’t have wings on his back, Blake certainly would not waste any more time to think of a complicated plan when a very simple and effective one instantly came up to the top of his mind.
Blake’s plan was very, very simple that even a kindergartener could understand it. With his, Cyra’s, and Vera’s ability to fly, the only plan that would make sense the most while also being the most effective was none other than using their wings to bombard the group of bison from above, getting out of their reach while they themselves could easily throw their spells safely from the sky.
And that was exactly what they did.
“Blast them all, Cyra!”
“Yes, brother!”
With the high nether density of the nether rich zone fueling them up, Cyra waved her hands many times, creating dozens if not hundreds of fireballs and sending them toward the group of bison below. Blake also did the same with his fiery nether, albeit he still couldn’t summon as many dark flame fireballs as Cyra.
The dark flame fireballs were a straightforward offensive ability. The moment they were conjured into the world, they only had one purpose ingrained in their whole being and that was to burn.
So that was exactly what they did.
The dark flame fireballs that numbered over a hundred rain down upon the group of bison as multiple of them hit one bison in a single second.
The bison, of course, realized the danger of the fireballs that suddenly appeared above them, but they didn’t stop their charge as it was also their own way of defending, outrunning the fireball. And they didn’t only rely on their feet to get away.
When the fireballs were registered in their eyes, the bison began gathering nether into their bodies, particularly their horns as the horns that only grew on their sides began glowing with dark glow, their size enlarging as they used the dark elements in their surroundings to make a dark elemental construct to cover their horns.
With the enlarged horn using the darkness element, the fireballs that made contact with them were crushed out of existence as the weaker fireballs couldn’t stand up to the might of the condensed darkness elemental construct of the horns.
However, with the bison only gathering a very dense darkness elemental construct on their horns instead of spreading them all over their bodies, the fireballs that easily outnumbered the small herd of bison below easily made their way onto other parts of the bison’s bodies that weren’t covered by the dense darkness element.
The fireballs latched themselves onto the top of the bison’s bodies, their sides, and even their feet as the large number of fireballs almost filled up every empty space above them.
Unlike any ordinary flames that could not spread as easily, for the dark flame, a single small spark was all they needed to use any flammable material as their fuel.
And for the bison whose bodies were made out of flesh and muscles instead of steel, it couldn’t be easier for the dark flame fireballs that had hit the bison’s bodies to start burning stronger and brighter using the bison’s body as their fuel.
Seeing the performance of the duo beside her and looking at the rapidly dwindling number of bison underneath her, Vera shelved her original intention of using one of her stronger rune formations and instead used a simple, yet effective spell instead.
Instead of drawing a set of runes from the darkness element, Vera instead drew a set of runes that belonged to the space element, an element that was exclusive to her.
As it was the set of runes that could be used in the first realm, the runes weren’t overly complicated and Vera had also finished it under a second, just like how she finished any other of her spells.
Once the runes flashed and disappeared, Vera stared at a certain spot at the back of the bison horde, the place where fewer of the bison were hit by the dark flame fireballs, which was also where her spell would manifest soon if she did her calculations properly.
And of course, her calculations were not wrong, and soon a silver portal, with the size that would be big enough for a single bison to pass through appeared right in front of the backmost bison that was still charging forward as if its life depended on it.
So when the portal suddenly appeared right in front of it, the bison couldn’t do anything such as sidestepping, stopping, or changing its direction as the momentum that it had carried forward was already too big for doing such stunts. With no other choice, the bison instead increased its speed and planned to burst through the portal that had suddenly appeared using its enhanced horns.
Unfortunately for the bison, unlike the dark flame fireballs that were able to be destroyed by the enhanced horns, the portal couldn’t even be touched by the enhanced horns as it and the whole bison entered the portal with ease.
Seeing the bison had entered the portal without any problem, Vera then shifted her eyes over to the middle part of the horde, where most of the burning bison had rampaged and flailed everywhere to try and get rid of the stubborn flames that kept growing bigger and hotter on their bodies.
Just like before, the reason why she was looking that way was because that would be the place where his spell would manifest next if her calculation from before was correct.
And with her years of experience using the space element, how could she miscalculate her own spells?
Right beside the middle part of the horde, a single portal, one that looked the same as before that had swallowed an entire bison appeared once again.
But instead of swallowing another bison, this time, it spitted out a whole bison instead, the same one that had enhanced its horns and increased its charging speed before being swallowed up by Vera’s portal.
So when the portal released the bison and teleported it to the side of the charging horde, the bison couldn’t help but crash its own enchanted horns toward one of its kind. And with the momentum and speed that it carried, the other bison was sent flying as it couldn’t hold out against the overwhelming momentum coming from its side.
And in a horde where they were basically running neatly beside each other was the moment one line broke apart, the others followed soon as the formation crumbled down, leaving only the front of the horde unscathed as they left behind the mess of bison on their back.
Vera would have teleported the bison to the front, but she didn’t as she knew that she would certainly upset a certain gigantic gorilla if she ever had taken his part, especially when she saw the huge gorilla had warmed up his fist, ready to pummel his enemies into mush.
