Chapter 116: Chapter 116 – Breeze’s Villain Arc Wicked End [2]
A few minutes ago, just as Max arrived at the basement, the group of three entered the mall. On their way, they luckily found a flashlight. It was left to Lily, and she gave her knife to Flexy because she couldn't move as fast as before due to exhaustion.
Everything went awry after Max separated, but they were optimistic about finding more loot in this mall.
"Remember to look around carefully. The loot won't have a star shining on them. But, thanks to that, the shape of the loot will be clearer, and you can know what you get before grabbing it. Let's focus on getting weapons and grenades. If there are herbs and antidotes, we will also take them."
StoneSword gave out instructions as the leader.
"Let's start with the destroyed first floor. There will be an Infected on the second and third floors, so we must arm ourselves first."
"Alright! Hehe, let's find those loots!" Flexy pumped the gloomy atmosphere up with his cheerful behavior.
They first checked the first floor of the map, going together. Lily was on the watch duty with her flashlight. She was asked to warn the others if there was a suspicious movement. A handgun was in her hand for self-defense.
It was a bit boring for her. She just stood near the lobby and pointed her flashlight here and there. There was no excitement at all.
'Why am I doing this? Just to get bored?' She thought. 'Can't we just… fight the enemies and have fun? I should've followed Max…'
She regretted his decision not to chase him even though she was suspicious about what he would do after disappearing on them. It made her curious.
"Lily, let's move."
A voice brought her back to attention. StoneSword patted her shoulder and walked past with Flexy, who had a big smile.
"That was a big loot. To think we found gloves in there is big. We can sell it for Scraps."
"Indeed. We need to get some weapons next. A machete, a sword, or a rifle if possible."
"You really do like sharp stuff, huh? Well, I will dab the rifle if we get one."
Both of them were pretty calm in this situation. Lily looked at them and followed from behind, shining the path they took with the flashlight in hand.
As they were about to enter another area of the mall to find more loot, they suddenly heard it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"BBBBBBBBBBBBBBB"
"CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC"
"DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"
A loud scream that echoed loudly from underground. Everyone who had played V-Shelter Survival before was familiar with this scream. No one could ever mistake this unique alphabetical scream that could even shake one's soul.
"Shit!" Flexy cursed loudly as he looked down on the ground. His eyes widened in panic. "That guy really did it! I thought he wouldn't know, but… Damn!"
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
"GGGGGGGGGGGG"
Narrowing his eyes, StoneSword immediately made a decision.
"Let's move to the rooftop. It's already too late to get out of this place. We will have a better chance of survival if we stay on top and hide rather than storming out without a plan. The horde that will arrive due to Screamer will be here soon."
"Yeah, let's go!"
Both of them immediately ran toward the stopped elevator in the center of the mall. Lily also followed, much to her confusion.
"What happened?" She asked as she tried to keep up with their pace. Normally, it would be really easy. But it was hard due to her bad condition.
"It's Screamer." StoneSword answered his sister's question, "That particular Infected will scream if there is a player near it, killing everyone around a 10-meter radius immediately. It's the most dangerous Infected according to the ranking in the community forum."
"Most dangerous? Why?"
Lily couldn't understand it. If the Infected ability was only to scream and kill everyone in a 10-meter radius, couldn't the players just defeat the Infected while maintaining their distance? A rifle or a sniper rifle would work great.
'I don't understand.'
Her confusion deepened. The way to defeat the Infected was so easy, yet why did people think it was the most dangerous Infected?
But StoneSword's explanation wasn't over yet.
"The scary part of Screamer isn't that instant kill ability, but what came afterward."
When he finished explaining that, they had reached the third floor. Flexy went on first to find the ladder leading to the roof, and he found it.
"Over here!!"
The brother and sister turned to Flexy, who waved his hand and pointed at a small room. Inside was a red ladder.
"Go ahead! The horde will be here soon!" The orange-haired streamer shouted with a hurried tone that was rare for him.
"RRRRRRRRRR!!"
"SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS"
"TTTTTTTTTTTTT"
"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
"Fast!! Move move move!!"
The two of them passed by Flexy and entered. Following that, he slammed the door shut, locked it, and followed them as they climbed the ladder.
Their movement was fast and hurried. They had no time to spend idling around. The distance between the third floor and the roof wasn't that far. Before the Screamer finished its scream, they managed to reach the roof and locked the hatch.
Many destroyed ventilation boxes were scattered around. There were only a few spaces where they could move.
"VVVV!"
StoneSword went to the edge of the roof and looked around. They were on time.
Just as the Screamer finished saying V, it happened. The world was shaking from the zombies and Infected that approached the mall from all directions. A 20-meter tall Infected with an appearance like a hunched man leading the horde and was the main reason behind the earthquake.
A cloud of dust was kicked in their wake. Nothing stopped them, not even the building. Rocket destroyed everything, and Turret swept everything with its tail. Not to mention, many kinds of Infected with strange appearances were also coming.
"It's a catastrophe," Flexy muttered in horror as he watched the scene unfold in front of his eyes.
Lily now also understood. Her eyes gleamed in excitement as she watched the horde of zombies and Infected coming closer. With their current equipment, they probably wouldn't survive. However…
'This is exciting.'
She still wanted to try. Now, she had a goal. And that was to survive.
'Thank you, Max. For making this game fun.'
