Chapter 159: Chapter 159 – Paperful City

Max decided to make an announcement in his Strike that he would stream at 9 PM tonight. He hoped the hotel he stayed at had a good VR Capsule, preferably the newest type.

When he finished his preparation and cleaned himself, he departed to Paperful City in Sky Rail.

Paperful City was one of the rare cities in the United Nations, with almost no skyscrapers in sight. The city was filled with various parks. Sports parks, leisure parks, dog parks, and even skate parks.

At night, many beautiful lights decorated the city. Some were put around the trees, and some were floating by the drone. It looked as if stars had descended on the city.

Many paper decorations could be seen here and there. They were colorful and added to the aesthetic of the city, giving it a unique look.

Max looked at the scenery from within the Sky Rail. He didn't expect this city to be beautiful. He actually expected it to be filled with skyscrapers like the other cities with advanced technology. But the reality broke his expectations.

The houses looked almost similar to each other, with roofs with low railings surrounded by ledges extending to sloped tiles. Jumping around them while lit by drone lights might produce beautiful footage.

He wanted to try it and explore this city.

'Let's do that after shooting the ad.'

After getting to the other side of the city, where lights were dimmer than in the center, the Sky Rail finally stopped. Max had arrived at his destination.

Taking his backpack, he exited the Sky Rail and went out of the station. Just when he exited the ticketing gate, he saw a man in a suit standing with a large hologram screen spelling 'Breeze' written in it. He had black hair that was slicked back nicely.

On his collar was a pin with Biozone Entertainment's logo. He must be the one who would accompany him, as Mr. Taka mentioned before.

"Good evening." Max greeted the man in the suit with a friendly smile, "Are you Biozone Entertainment's employee?"

Hearing his question, the man nodded and smiled professionally.

"That's correct. My name is Michael Lamb, and I will be your temporary manager while we're shooting the ad. I will also be your driver in the meantime until we finish shooting the ad. It's nice to meet you, Breeze. Please just call me Michael."

"It's nice to meet you too, Michael."

Both of them shook hands, and Michael explained his schedule for tonight as they walked to the parking lot.

"We will meet with the sponsor's representative after this in the hotel where you will stay tonight. She's pretty interested in talking to you about tomorrow's shooting plan and will explain the idea and concept she has in mind."

"Ah, that would be helpful."

While Mr. Taka said the sponsor wanted to replicate his parkour video, there needed to be a concept and a story so the viewers would be engaged.

For example, his first parkour video was about him getting chased by security. BloodSucker further edited it, and the storytelling and transition became way better. In fact, it gained more views than the first version. The story was what made the viewers love the video.

"After talking to the sponsor, you are free to do whatever you want. However, we will begin the shoot early tomorrow." Michael explained.

He stopped when they reached a blue hovercar and opened the door for Max.

As they entered, Michael looked over the mirror.

"So, we'd appreciate it if you took care of your health and rested without playing any games. Your complexion isn't as good as the one I saw in the picture. Are you sick? If yes, please rest and don't play VR tonight so you can give your best tomorrow."

How did he know? Max wondered. Was Michael a doctor? Or was his expression really that easy to see through?

He smiled wryly. His plan to get to Tier 3 tonight seemed to be canceled.

'There is no choice. I don't think that I am still unwell. But if other people can still see it from my expression, then I probably am still not fit enough. I guess I will rest from VR for today.'

"Very well." He answered Michael, "So, are we going straight to the hotel right now?"

"Yes, the sponsor was waiting for your arrival. Unfortunately, we have no time to prepare. Please just answer her question with honey in your mouth. We can't afford to offend her. But, if it's concerning safety, please be honest with her. We will handle the rest."

In short, suck her up so she pays more to Biozone and Max. If it was too dangerous, put some common sense into her head. He got that message very clearly.

Their ride to the hotel was pretty calm. Max enjoyed the scenery outside, which was pretty much filled with trees and a beautiful light show while wondering what kind of person he would meet later.

'Because it is one of NoFeet's board directors, she is probably a middle-aged woman, no? I should show my politeness and give a nice first impression.'

The hotel they arrived at was smaller than the Biozone Hotel in New Eden City. However, it wasn't lost in terms of luxuriousness and service.

Max was greeted by beautiful staff. Because he had no belongings, the male staff had no job to do but to park the hovercar in the basement.

Looking around, he was mesmerized by the hotel decorations that combine nature and technology. The color scheme was green, giving it a fresh feeling. The nice smell that came from the café connected to the lobby invited him to come closer and have a meal.

Unfortunately, he couldn't afford to stop.

"Breeze, the sponsor, has been waiting in the meeting room. We should meet her first. Once again, please only answer the question directed to you and the safety concern, as you're the actor and probably knew better about it than us. For the rest, please leave it to me."

"I understand."

The mentioned meeting room was on the highest floor of the hotel, which was the 10th floor. It was a small hotel, but there was a reason behind that. There was a rule in the city that the building could only reach a certain height to keep the drone light show visible everywhere.

When they arrived, Michael opened the door for him. He was expecting to see a lady in her 40s waiting for him inside with her secretary or manager. However, the one who greeted him wasn't the kind of person he expected.

"Welcome, Breeze!"

It was indeed a middle-aged woman in a suit, but her energetic self was pretty surprising. It took him off guard, and she approached closely, observing him like a predator.

"Fufufu, you're also more handsome than the one in the photo. Perfect. I hope we can shoot the perfect ad tomorrow with you." She backed away and smiled slyly.

"You remind me a bit of my son. Hahaha, it's a compliment, so please don't worry. But, it will be getting late soon. Let's talk about the ad."

"Ah, yes."

That was the only thing he could say in this situation.
