Chapter 72: Chapter 72 – Your Lucky Day is Over! [1]
Looting was an important aspect of V-Shelter Survival. Players would usually take their time to check every room and every corner to find items if they were in a certain area with a lot of loot, usually called a 'heavy loot area' by veterans.
Yes, it was common sense to loot.
"Hahaha! Die, bastard! How dare you make me run like a chicken!"
Swoosh!
However, for Max, who got embarrassed after showing off a confident look, he didn't care about looting. He wanted to kill all the zombies as soon as possible and got that stream mission reward.
"And this is the last one!"
With a swing of his right hand, Max destroyed the zombie's brain, their weak point, and killed the last zombie he saw on the third floor.
It dropped to the ground with a splashing sound, and Max wiped his knife which was covered in strange liquid, using his sleeves before putting it on his backpack.
"To think there are so many zombies on just the third floor. I guess there will be more of them on the first floor, no? And an Infected as well, with faster speed and sturdier body."
— You said many, but there are only 6
— They look so easy to kill with a knife.
— He makes it look so easy without a gun, but… It's supposed to be hard, no? Ah, I am just a viewer, I have never played the game yet!
— V-Shelter Survival without a gun = 10% survival rate. It makes it way harder.
— It's just 6 zombies, guys. I won't say it's impossible to kill them as easily as Breeze
Zombies, although had almost zero defense thanks to their hollow bones and decayed fleshes, they still moved faster than humans. Killing them barehanded, without any gun, was supposed to be hard, just as the chat mentioned.
It didn't mean impossible, just hard.
"Their movements are fast but can be easily guessed," Max explained the reason why he could kill them easily. "As long as you react at the perfect time, you can deal with them easily, even with a knife."
— Easier said than done
— This b4st4rd is showing off
— Suck my ***!
"Oh, that's one person banned from chat."
[SuckMyEyes is banned permanently.]
The notification appeared in chat as Max banned him without hesitation. It sounded different from when BloodSucker was banned from Flexy's stream, as he only banned this viewer from chatting and not from his stream.
"I know that some of us want to cuss, but be polite and on topic."
— Understood
— Instruction is clear
— Damn! He banned him without hesitation. Well, that crazy guy deserved it
— lololol, goodbye, fish!
— No one will miss him
No one complained about Max's decision. Crazy and impolite people could ruin the stream with their weird chats, so no one liked those kinds of people. That was why they even mocked the person who got banned and appreciated Max for doing it.
"Well then, let's loot the third floor and move to the second floor. I hope I can find more 9mm bullets or Scraps."
Max proceeded to go inside each room and took everything he found with a big smile on his face.
"I have taken a liking to looting." He commented as he took the last item he found in the hallway.
[12x 9mm bullets obtained!]
"Oh?! Finally! Getting 8 Scraps out of 8 loots made me skeptical about the RNG. But, to think I found a full mag here. Lady luck hasn't forsaken me yet!"
— More like she pities you
— To think he got 8 Scraps out of 8 loot in a heavy loot area… How pitiful
— I thought his RNG was good, but it's trash! Lolol, not even I get that many Scraps without any ammo or herbs
— No shelter-building material too. How unlucky…
"Shut up, guys. Let me be happy getting these bullets!" Max complained while putting the mag into his pocket.
Of course, Max also thought that it was too much. It was as if the game was trying to nerf him.
'Ugh, I hope there is a rifle or something on the second floor. Preferably the one that uses 5.6mm bullets.'
Thinking so, he walked down the stairs to the second floor carefully. From what he found out, the zombies were sensitive to sound, so he put his hand on his lips, gesturing to his viewers that he would be silent while proceeding.
— Ssshh!!
— ZOMBIEE!! BREEZE IS HERE! BREEZE IS HERE!
— You should use text to voice and make your donation be heard by the in-game function, Breeze. It would be fun that way.
— Kekeke, yeah yeah. I agree with that idea
— How sadistic… You want to bait the zombie to him. I like it.
That was indeed a good idea, if he was already used to the stream, that is.
"I will think about it." He answered in a low voice and stepped on the second floor.
Just like the third floor, it was an office area with many rooms. Some of the walls were destroyed; debris filled the hallway and blocked some parts of the area.
Zombies' groans could be heard from some of the room. They began to move ever so slowly when they smelt fresh flesh entering their area.
On top of exceptional hearing, their sense of smell was also like a dog, though a little bit limited in range. They loved fresh flesh and wanted to devour it.
One by one, they showed themselves, dragging their feet against the floor. Drools dripped down their open mouths, and they looked really hungry. Their stomachs were empty… Literally.
Max, oblivious to the fact zombies had good senses of smell, asked in surprise, "They found me? I didn't make any noise."
— Your breath smell
— You stink, Breeze. That's why
— Did you forget to shower?
The chat provided him with the answer he needed.
"Why didn't you tell me that earlier?!" He raised his voice in complaint as he bit the flashlight and took out the handgun, holding it in his left hand.
"Fck! Nw I nid to fght dem all!" His voice was muffled, but that didn't matter.
— F*ck! Now I need to fight them all!
There was always a viewer who would translate it for the others!
Having that cleared out, Max pulled the handgun's trigger, killing the farthest zombie, and started running. A fight broke out immediately with that as a signal.
