Chapter 87: Chapter 87 – StoneSword and LilyPixel Pair [2]
Using the wall to jump, Lily grabbed the edge of the wall and somersaulted. She landed on her feet and began to run toward the southern wall without stopping.
"Oooooh! She arrived at the top of the wall easily! And her landing is so beautiful. She pulled off Breeze's famous movement, wall run!"
— He's doomed!
— His path is taken lol. He got rekt by his own carelessness
— It's all Flexy's fault for posting that clip! Pay him more lesson fee!
— Breeze: All right, more lesson fee please
— Kekeke, how will you win this, Breeze?
— Flexy! You bastard! You make Breeze lose!
— Yeah, add more lesson fees! 50,000 diamonds were too low!
"How am I the one at fault?!" Flexy pointed at himself with a panicked expression as the chat kept flaming him.
"Yeah, it's your fault." Max nodded repeatedly and agreed with the chat, which invited an even more amusing reaction.
"No way… Come on, aren't we friends?"
"Thank you for your patronage." He grinned at Flexy and put his thumb and index finger together.
Everyone laughed at his reaction, including the production crew behind the camera.
Unlike the light atmosphere in the studio, StoneSword and LilyPixel were concentrating. They arrived at the flag and Gargantua's dining room, respectively, and started the battle.
Many barbarians appeared on the wall as soon as Lily took off the flag. She held her rapier tightly and decided to jump onto the tightrope, which was still in the flag area, and fought them one by one. Thrusts and slashes were sent, defeating the barbarians one by one.
"What a brilliant strategy. It's rather risky because the flag area only covers a bit of the tightrope. If she stepped further just a bit, the progress percentage would decrease!" Evelyn commented with a lot of energy. "But LilyPixel seems to be fine! The progress is also filling slowly. Wonderful!"
"That's totally a risky move. She can destroy such a good run with a decent RNG if she makes a mistake!"
Flexy added with his usual high spirit.
"Not only that, she also limited her own movement. The benefit of dealing with the enemy one by one came with it, but I don't think I will ever do that."
"Indeed." This time, Max also agreed with Flexy's reasoning. "Her movement becomes too limited, and that can be fatal if she got attacked from both sides."
He watched the run seriously and analyzed it. It was coming to an end soon.
More than 30 minutes had passed since they started, and to reach 100% progress of taking over the flag, one needed to stay in the area for around 20 minutes.
Combined with all that happened and considering that the fort was extra large, it was hard to estimate the fastest time possible.
However, it was clear that the player needed at least 20 minutes to clear the barbarian and reach their destination, adding another 20 minutes to take over the flag if only one player was in the area.
The progress would be faster if the second player was also inside the area. It boosted the speed to take over the flag twice as fast, decreasing the time needed to only 10 minutes!
That, however, came with the problem.
The progress would stop at 99% before the boss was killed. It would only reach 100%, which would take another 30 seconds after Gargantua was killed.
Even after killing Gargantua, climbing up to the top of the fort from the dining room would take a few minutes.
So cooperation was a must to finish this run. Thus, the split strategy was popular and the most efficient.
'Theoretically, one can finish this run in 40 minutes and 30 seconds or even faster if the second player takes the flag together. With two people, taking over the flag will only need 14 minutes instead of 20 minutes.' Max thought.
Around 45 minutes had passed since the run started. StoneSword finally managed to breach Gargantua's defense and killed him by impaling his two swords into his skull. He managed to kill him just right when the flag's capture progressed to 99%!
"Lily!!" He shouted loudly, giving a signal to his sister.
— StoneSword killed Gargantua in minute 45! He's faster than before!
— Damn! Is this a world record?!
— I AM HERE!
— I WAS HERE!
— Kyaaa! World record in the official channel!
— I was here!
— POG GG! StoneSword the Knight's Journey GOAT
The chat went crazy after they realized it would become another world record. But there was still one problem. The last 30 seconds. Everything was depending on Lily now.
On the roof, surrounded by enemies that now came from behind, Lily began to move closer to the top. She just needed to survive inside the area. That was all she needed!
In the last moment, Lily moved like a dancer once again, attacking the barbarians like a fury of wind with her rapier. Her goal was to stay in the area and not get hit.
'A few more seconds.' She thought. Sweat formed on her forehead, behind her head protector.
She kept moving without stopping. Move and move. A thrust was sent every now and then toward the barbarians trying to strike her.
"Left." She muttered and spun her body, piercing the barbarian's neck and cutting his throat easily.
She heard a voice from behind and jumped without hesitation. An axe passed by the place where her legs were earlier.
"There."
With that word, she kicked the barbarian that tried to strike her with an axe, the hole that led to the dining room below.
Thud!
Ding ding ding!
At the same time, the barbarian hit the ground; a loud chime rang in the world. That signified the end of the run, and the allied knights appeared from all corners as if they were teleported there.
Hearing the bell, Lily pumped her fists and smiled. She was having fun.
'I did it.'
Following the initial bell, colorful papers began to rain down from the sky. The two players were teleported to a luxurious castle, standing on a red carpet in front of a large throne.
A beautiful Princess in a white dress was standing before them, holding an exquisite sword with intricate design.
It was a special end for those who broke the world record.
"IT'S HERE!!"
— IT'S HERE!
— PRINCESSSS!!!
— LARISSA!! Aahhh, Princess, how beautiful she is!
— Wooooh, WORLD RECORD BABY!
— I was here
With Evelyn's excited shout as the start, the chat began acting crazy. The Princess only appeared a few times since the game was released a month ago. Not to mention, it never appeared again after StoneSword and LilyPixel took the crown of the world record holder.
"My brave knights, excellent work! I commend you and shall reward you with the title of the best knight for your triumphant takeover of Galantia Fort."
The Princess moved the sword to StoneSword's shoulder and then LilyPixel's. Both of them didn't move and only smiled, looking at the golden letters and numbers floating above the throne.
[CONGRATULATIONS! NEW WORLD RECORD!]
[Final time: 00:46:41]
It was a hard record to beat.
