Infinite Potential System

Chapter 435 Definition Is Law, The Appearance Of Mana

The Seal Element understood William's intention this time and seemed to step away from his body on its own to carry out the task. It billowed out like a thick smog, then covered each of the nine Fire Hawks at once and forced their movements to halt midair.

Since the Superior Seal Vein was located on the Velos Continent and he had already absorbed it, the strength of the Spell was a lot weaker than normal, but it was still enough to do the job. The only reason the Order Element was still powerful was because it was simply a Mythic Element.

The two X-Rank Elements were about as strong as an SSR-Element, but when targeting boulders and hawks, the difference wasn't noticeable at all.

-This is the effect of a Law. Before, you were borrowing the strength of the Element, but now you are making the Element itself do the work. This is the first Realm of Laws: Definition Is Law.

-I wanted to see if you could figure it out yourself, and you've done surprisingly well. There are three steps to Definition is Law. Declare the Element, define your target, and determine the effects. As long as you meet these three requirements, your Spell will work.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

-After the Spell is cast, you don't have to do anything else.

William nodded in understanding at the System's words. He was going to catch the Hawks before they landed, but he realized that something was different about his Mana.

It wasn't actively being channeled, which meant he could cast Magic right now!

I had a feeling that this is what you meant, System, but this is amazing! William thought as he channeled Wind Mana to wrap around the Fire Hawks and allow them to safely drop to the ground.

He enjoyed looting and earning Potential Points, but the Hawks were merely in the Core Formation Realm. They were hardly worth anything, and their materials weren't useful to any Pills above Tier 3. William could afford to let them go, and he already felt bad for using them as test subjects.

That said, he realized that he could essentially chant Spells into existence. Not only that, but he had the Magic Homing Talent, which would also allow him to multitask, just only with projectiles.

If I chant Seal Magic, then an Order Spell, and follow it up by shooting off compressed Fire Bullets, won't I be casting three Spells at the same time? How can anyone deal with that?!? William was starting to realize just how powerful Cultivators at high levels were.

Considering how long Efretta had lived and the fact that she was a Host of the System, William guessed that she was also able to do the same, possibly even with more Elements. If that was the case, to be captured meant her enemies were even stronger!

Is everyone overpowered? System, what are you getting me into? William was a bit fearful now. He had been confident in his defensive power for a long time, but he knew that Laws were absurdly strong compared to normal Magic.

-You're overthinking it. There are many much stronger than you, but do I need to remind you of how you treated that Ascended Cultivator? He wasn't a match for you at all! He was just your average Ascended Cultivator, but the current you would kill him with a few words, literally.

William paused for a moment, then nodded. He had to admit that the System had a point. It seems it goes both ways then. There are strong ones and weak ones, and I should be careful of who I offend.

-Now you get it, but can you actually stick to your words? I remember at least half a dozen times where you planned to be low-profile but then overdid it.

Some of those were because of you though! Explain to me how I was supposed to win the Alchemy Competition without being high-profile? I was brand new to the Sect!

-I'm pretty sure I said this before, but the Quest wouldn't have been issued if you hadn't arrogantly commented on the Disciples' refinement methods. This was a long time ago, but I know that you remember.

Okay, then the Ranking Board! How could I not be high-profile then?

-By paying attention to who you were challenging and studying your opponents. If you had just challenged number 302 instead of 301, then you wouldn't have had to fight Yu Ren. You only would have had to fight one more battle, and beating the Rank 1 wouldn't have drawn the attention of the Yu Royal Family.

-This was the chain of events that led you to slavery, might I remind you.

William shook his head. The System was right; he was a little overconfident in the past and made a lot of rash decisions. With a System backing him, how could he not be?

Who would waste their time studying their opponents when they could say the word and upgrade their abilities?

We'll just have to see what happens when I Ascend, then. William finished as he teleported to an area close to the Livingwood Forest.

Following a particular path and entering an inconspicuous cave, William descended deeper and deeper until he reached the Superior Life Vein. He also didn't forget to gather the necessary Shards for his Appearance Restoration Pill.

Over the course of a few months, William kept track of Reius' progression while absorbing the Superior Veins. The Mana he channeled into the World was slowly improving the state of everything within, many magical things appearing one after the other.

First came the plants, which became medicinal herbs countless times better than the original. When these were used in prescription medication and for hospital treatment, many injured and sick found themselves healing at a faster rate than before.

Some incurable diseases were magically cured, and hospitals all over the World found themselves emptier and emptier. This was still written off as just a wave of good fortune, but the events of the next month left many experts confused.

Taxonomists reported the appearance of many new species of animals that were larger and stronger than their previous versions. They had been eating the herbs that grew naturally, which led to their offspring developing interesting traits.

While the taxonomists determined they were still the same creature, many conspiracy theorists guessed that the government was doing some sort of biological testing that spilled off into the environment.

As the cases increased, so too did the environmentalist complaints. Protests across the World destabilized the situation briefly, but everything went off the rails when the first babies born with unusual abilities appeared.

Cases of children touching flames and not being hurt at all, or bathtubs suddenly overflowing for no particular reason became common. The protests became riots as angry parents believed their children had been exposed to some kind of chemical, and the third month placed many nations on the verge of Civil War.

And then the fourth month came. By this time, Fria had secretly reached the Foundation Establishment Realm on Reius, but the first Cultivator had been declared to the public, having just broken into the Qi Refinement Realm.

And thus began the greatest— and likely most dangerous— era of Reius' history.
