Chapter 522: Chapter 522 - These are Daddy's friends
"We'll be staying there for about three days," Freya said from Leon's left, while Lily sat on Freya's other side. "After visiting Maylock, we can use the time to go sightseeing and do some snorkeling around the islands," she added. "Yes, it's close to the beach and some great tourist spots."
"What's with you always thinking about vacations?" Leon chuckled.
Freya playfully tapped Leon's hand. "As a manager, I'm just doing my best to optimize our time, you know. That way, we won't miss out on anything-we can visit Maylock and also get a little bit of relaxation in. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah... that sounds like a really good idea."
After a moment, Leon spoke up again. "I heard from Elincia that she has a private jet with a Capsule Device installed on it."
"That doesn't surprise me. Elincia is always online, even though she's so busy, and she knows how to make good use of her time."
Lily then asked, "Are you thinking of doing the same, Leon? Buying a private jet?"
"No," Leon replied. "I don't have that kind of money. I just want to experience using the Capsule Device while flying. It sounds like it would be an interesting experience."
"Then why don't you ask Elincia to take you for a flight on her private jet?" Freya suggested. "That way, you can easily try it out."
"Isn't flying on a private jet super expensive?" Lily asked.
"Yes, it's very expensive, about the same as a set of Unique-grade equipment, I think?" Freya said, giggling.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Woah..." Lily responded. "Wouldn't I also share in the privilege of his friends? Can I really enjoy this without any consequences?"
"You're his sister. As long as you don't have a husband of your own, you can still take advantage of him, right?" Freya said with a light laugh.
"I don't want to take advantage of Leon... I want to earn my own money, Freya," Lily replied.
"You're smart, Lily," Leon said. "You don't need to worry about that."
"And you're beautiful too," Freya added. "Soon, you'll have a hard time turning down all the men chasing after you."
"I haven't really thought about that yet; I'm still so young!"
"Why not? Your brother already has plenty of potential wives," Freya teased.
"But that's just in the game. Outside of the game, you might be the only potential candidate I know for him right now," Lily answered.
"Oh, surely you know I'm of exceptional quality, Lily," Freya said with a playful grin.
"Yes, you're beautiful, smart, and loyal to him, right?"
"Don't tell me you're blushing because we're talking about this, Leon?" Freya teased, poking him in the side.
Leon sighed, amused by their conversation. "I'm just thinking about what I want to do with everything I have in the game," he said, grinning.
Several hours later, the plane landed, and they quickly hopped into a taxi, heading straight for the hospital where Maylock's wife was being treated. As they neared the hospital and stepped out of the taxi, they spotted a man whose face was immediately familiar to them.
It was a man with blonde hair and glasses, looking to be in his thirties.
"Leon?" the man said. It was clear this was Maylock, as they shared the same facial features and even the same hair color. The only difference was that here, he wasn't wearing sunglasses.
"And you're Maylon?" Leon replied.
Maylon and Leon had already been in contact over the phone before this meeting, so they were familiar with each other's names.
Maylon chuckled softly. "Haha, welcome," he said as he stepped forward and embraced Leon. "Thanks for coming."
They then turned to face each other. "How was the flight?"
"The best flight I've ever had in my life."
"Is that because it was your first time flying?" Maylon chuckled.
"You seem to know more than you should, huh?" Leon said.
Maylon then turned to the others. "Hi, Freya..."
"Hi, nice to meet you."
"And this is Lily, Leon's sister," Lily introduced herself.
"Hi, Lily..." Maylon said, studying her for a moment. "I think I've seen you in the game."
Sssshhh, Lily subtly signaled to him. "No, that's not me."
Leon glanced over at Lily. Had Maylon seen her in the game? Leon still had no idea what role Lily played there.
Maylon then led them inside the hospital and to the room where his wife was being treated, though they could only see her through the glass window.
Freya asked quietly, "So, she has cancer?"
Maylon nodded slowly and began to explain her condition, detailing the ups and downs she had been through.
Leon listened in silence, nodding gently as he absorbed the story. It was a stark contrast to the strong, strategic, and resilient image of Maylock they were used to seeing in the game. Here, in the real world, they were faced with a different side of him-the reality of his wife's
suffering.
"She was getting better before," he said, his voice low. "But recently, her condition started to decline."
A heavy silence fell over the group, each of them quietly trying to grasp the depth of his
sadness.
Not long after, a five-year-old girl approached with her babysitter by her side.
"Daddy..." the girl called softly.
Maylon crouched down with a warm smile. "Hey, Maylene, these are Daddy's friends."
Maylene glanced shyly at Leon and the others. Lily waved and said, "Hi... My name is Lily."
"I'm Maylene," the little girl replied.
They made their way to the hospital café, walking at a relaxed pace. Lily sat beside Maylene, and the two quickly formed a bond, chatting and giggling softly. Meanwhile, Leon, Freya, and Maylon took seats close together.
Soon, their orders arrived, and they sipped coffee, letting the warmth of the drink ease the tension of the night as they continued to talk.
Maylon began tentatively, "So, uh... about the Moonlight Fae..."
But Leon quickly cut in, "Let's not worry about that right now. You have your wife to focus on, and we can sort everything out later."
Freya nodded in agreement.
"Let me summarize everything, and I'll send the details to you later," Maylon said.
Just then, their attention was caught by the large television in the corner of the café. The
screen was displaying a live broadcast.
"It looks like something big is happening in Immortal Legacy," they all exclaimed.
"Is it a monster horde attack? An emergency event? Oh, I want to log in right now!" someone
nearby said.
Leon and the others turned to look at the screen.
"Is that Deadbay?" Leon muttered, his expression suddenly tense.
