Chapter 523: Chapter 523 - The Sirens of Deadbay

Ivana and the three Knights were hunting in the forest near Deadbay when Anna suddenly spotted a Wild Boar in the distance.

"Monsters! Let's go, kill them all! Ha ha ha!" she shouted, immediately charging forward.

Karl called out after her, "Anna, don't be too reckless! Pay attention to your surroundings!" But it was too late. Another monster had already appeared from a different direction and charged at Anna. She managed to parry the attack, but the power behind it was overwhelming, forcing her back slightly. The boar's level, over 200, was clearly higher than theirs.

Karl quickly ran over, his momentum perfect as he cast a skill, swinging his sword with great force and delivering a deep wound to the monster. The beast staggered backward, weakened. An arrow shower rained down from the sky, piercing the ground around them.

Anna regained her footing, spinning her greatsword in a wide arc, drawing the attention of two more monsters at once. Karl maneuvered skillfully, taking advantage of the opening and finishing off the remaining threats.

They dealt with the monsters relatively easily, but before they could catch their breath, Yann spotted more enemies approaching from another direction.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Without hesitation, he released an arrow, slowing the oncoming group of five monsters. "Stay sharp! More monsters are coming!" Yann shouted, his voice urgent.

Meanwhile, Ivana was seen sprinting from a distance, carrying her massive new shield-so large it was nearly the size of her own body. She moved with incredible speed, hurling the shield toward the monsters. The shield spun through the air, smashing into every monster in its path.

Ivana suddenly appeared right where the shield landed, catching it effortlessly. With swift, fluid motions, she slammed the shield into one of the monsters, then darted with surprising agility, despite the shield's size, and slammed it into another.

The other knights stared in disbelief, their mouths agape.

Ivana continued, slamming the shield in all directions, forcing the monsters to retreat. She then charged forward, delivering a final, devastating blow with her shield, finishing off the monsters in a matter of seconds!

"Oh, come on, Ms. Ivana..." Anna protested, a playful pout on her lips. "Wasn't it my turn to kill those monsters?"

Ivana's expression was tense as she replied, "I think we need to head back to town, and soon."

Anna frowned, confused. "Why? We've only been hunting for a few hours. Shouldn't we hunt until night?"

"No," Ivana said firmly. "I have a feeling Deadbay is in danger. We need to head back."

Karl nodded in agreement. "Let's go back."

With that, Ivana took the lead, and the others quickly followed.

Anna, still puzzled, tried to press further. "What danger? Aren't there a lot of adventurers in the city? And the Knights of Deadbay? There's Lady Elincia, Lady Melliandra, and Lord Kingsley... are we really needed there?"

Karl cut in sharply, "Stop complaining, Anna, and do as Ms. Ivana says."

Anna giggled. "I'm just asking..." she said, but she picked up her pace and followed without further protest.

A loud siren blared through the control room of Golden Age Company, prompting Marco, the CEO who almost never left his office, to sprint down the hall and burst into the room. "What's the emergency?" he asked, his face a mix of panic and urgency. This was no ordinary alarm—it signaled a high-level crisis, and knowing that alone was enough to set everyone on edge.

"Morel, the Knight Commander of the Moonlight Fae, has ordered the Faery Guardians to launch an attack on Deadbay City," one of the staff reported.

They all turned their attention to the screen, where a massive horde of monsters could be seen, hundreds-no, even over a thousand-charging in the same direction.

"Arthur!" Marco shouted. A large screen on one side of the room lit up, displaying a unique pixel-like graphic, and a voice responded.

"I'm here, Marco." It was Arthur, the AI responsible for monitoring developments in Immortal Legacy.

"What is the projected damage from this attack? What are the chances of Deadbay City surviving?"

"Analyzing the current situation," Arthur AI began. "The chances of Deadbay City surviving this attack are currently at 3%."

Marco's face tightened as Arthur continued, breaking down the dire situation.

"First, the city is mainly populated by low-level or new players. They lack the skills and high- level gear necessary to defend against the monsters.

"Second, there's little to no major guild presence. The only activity detected comes from a few scattered members of the Ass Guild, but their numbers are too small to make a real

difference.

"Third, we have a handful of Special NPCs active in the area, but their combat abilities aren't enough to sway the outcome.

"Lastly, several high-level players who could make a difference are stuck under Time

Penalties. They can't log in to help."

Arthur paused, then delivered the grim conclusion. "Without immediate and significant reinforcements, Deadbay City is expected to fall."

Marco's expression shifted to shock as he processed the news. He immediately turned to his employee.

"We need to issue an Emergency Quest," he said. "Send it to all players near Deadbay City, instructing them to come to its defense. Do it immediately!"

"Yes, sir," the employee responded.

"And make sure this announcement reaches all players who are currently logged out," Marco continued, his tone insistent. "If their characters are near Deadbay City, they need to log in and help defend it right away."

He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "There are numerous critical quests taking place in Deadbay City. If it falls, a lot of major plotlines will be disrupted, and the Dissidia Kingdom will be in serious danger. Now, what's the status of Elincia, Maylock, Broken, Melliandra, and the other top players around the city?"

"Broken and Elincia are currently under Time Penalty, sir," the employee replied. "And Maylock hasn't logged in for several days. According to what we've heard, it's because his wife is in the hospital, so he likely won't be able to join the game."

Marco's expression grew more serious. "We need to take action," he said firmly. "In a

situation like this, we really need someone like Maylock. I have to think of a way to resolve

this."

"But sir, there is one top guild near Deadbay, though I'm not sure if they'll be able to get closer in time."

"What guild?" Marco asked, his tone urgent.

"Sexy Killers."

"They've got Lust Champion with them. Contact them immediately and reach out to anyone who can assist us in this situation," Marco ordered.

The room was in a state of controlled chaos, with everyone working frantically to analyze all possible scenarios. Notifications and emergency quests were quickly issued to players through multiple channels: in-game alerts, emails, official announcements from the company, and even a live broadcast planned to rally more players to come to Deadbay's aid. After some time, Marco spoke again. "There is only one way to solve this problem." Everyone turned to him, their eyes filled with concern. They all knew how critical the situation was, and they understood the weight of the risks they were about to take on.

"We need those with the greatest potential to help defend Deadbay," Marco continued, "and

to do that, we must lift the Time Penalty rule for players."

His words immediately created a wave of tension throughout the room.

"We need to call an emergency meeting with all company stakeholders," he said firmly. "I'm going to address this issue right now."
