Chapter 39 Skill progression
After talking with Tessa for a while, Lucas came to know many devastating things.
Tessa told her story from the start with detail as she had free time. When she came to this place, she was alone just like Lucas but then she came across a group after walking endlessly.
Even she told Lucas that the forest seemed to have no end. She told him that she found many good people. A mix of girls, boys, men, and women. They all seemed to survive together while hunting small creatures for food until something not very good happened.
The ones who go for the hunt all had certain attack skills and that included Tessa. To be exact, her skill was the best in her group. She did not have to go close to the monsters and could just kill them with a single hit.
Lucas guessed it on his own, he knew that Tessa was into archery when she was young. She made some tweaking and her aim was as good as anew.
But then they got in trouble with those green-colored small human-looking monsters. With how Tessa described them, they really were disgusting. Tessa told him that in their first encounter, it was hard for them to kill them.
Not because they were strong but because they looked somewhat human with the body, the face had some human features too. But the goblins did not care about such a thing. They had a drive to kill and she could tell from their look that they were just looking at the hunting party as if they were a bunch of food bags.
Because of this, out of the six including Tessa, three died from their hands. Three young good people that had the welfare of their families and the group in their mind died just like that.
This all happened on the 5th day and from then on, Tessa had a mental breakdown. The whole camp which consisted of fifteen people was in terror and later, when they didn't go out much.
The goblins came knocking on the door, Tessa explained her emotions to Lucas as 'angry' that day. She killed all the small goblins in cold blood which had a more traumatic effect on her mind.
But the people in the camp were very supportive of her, she healed her heart due to their support and now she killed for these people. She told Lucas that she had no remorse for killing these bastards in cold blood and would do it again and again to which Lucas supported completely.
The only thing that weighed on her mind was the people that died that day because of her foolishness.
Lucas consoled her and she was happy that her little brother was now mature enough.
After the call, Lucas tried to call his mother but he couldn't because of a rule that one can't call the same person more than once in a span of 24 hours. He called his father who didn't seem to pick it up. Now, Lucas panicked but knowing his father and mother, if they survived for the 10 starting days, a few more hours would have also been easy.
He looked at his father's level while calling and didn't have much of a reaction even when the number 5 was written in place of the level.
"I expected my father to be this high level. With his skills, lower than this would have been disappointing heh." Lucas said with a chuckle to make his mood fresh again. He was sitting at a log near the camp, around him, every one of the group looked at him as if they were waiting for something.
"Are you done, Lucas? We need to talk now." John asked, his face showing the calmness that one would expect from an adult in any situation.
"Yes, Uncle John. Let's begin." Lucas looked at everyone one by one who looked back at him with serious faces.
"A lot of information was given to us today and we need to discuss it all. Will you start, Uncle John?"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Certainly, for the starters, the awards of the 1st phase. We got three more options inside our systems today. They being... party, trade, and talk. Everyone knows what talk is and most in here have already used it so I will skip it. The next is trade, from what I have seen, trade will help us barter stuff with others we talk to.
It does not have a range so no matter how far we all are, we can give each other stuff even if we are far."
"Does that mean?" Sarah had a huge smile on her face to which John reciprocated with a nod.
"You all can send stuff to others through this, Lucas to his family, Sarah to her brother."
Lucas nodded, he had discussed everything with Uncle John beforehand and all this information was for the group.
"Lastly, this party thing, we all are not together right now. We call ourselves a group but these texts don't see it like that. The EXP and everything is a mess. So after looking at this party option, it just means that through this, we can be a group under the eyes of these texts." John stopped and took a breather. He continued, "This is also one of our objectives, make a party of 10 people."
Everyone nodded in unison, understanding what John said without any trouble. John was the one to be appreciated for this, he dumbed it down so that everyone could take all the information even better.
"Lucas, continue."
"Yes, you can all see the objectives and one of them is to level all our skills to 5 in these 4 months. Everyone, open your status screen."
Lucas asked them and opened it himself to give a better explanation.
