275 Chapter 274: A Thousand years later
How?
Everyone was stunned. The thought of Damon dying may have crossed their minds but never did they expect it to become reality. The youth who they all started within the small academy of the Gyro Kingdom became a fugitive, then a powerful force, a world leader, and finally a God.
Unfortunately, all of that meant nothing since he didn’t even live for a day as a deity.
Blink felt his legs fail him and he simply vanished. Never to return again and that was how he vanished from the picture.
The news of Damon’s death soon spread and just a week after an empire-wide funeral took place. It was a funeral fit for an emperor and a God, unfortunately, it meant nothing to the dead.
A week turned to months and months turned to years and then centuries. The mana of the world had begun to dwindle and people believed that the God’s vein had run out of mana. The supernatural abilities of the world slowly began to fade alongside cultivators.
With no Mana, slowly cultivation vanished and the world advanced. No man could become God without cultivation and soon the world reset and became normal
But Damon’s name remained in the hearts and minds of many, never to be forgotten until their dying day.
...… A Thousand years later ...…
.....
The central continent was ruled by one great nation currently known as Sicia Empire, ruled by an imperial family at the center and four provinces at the four borders of the continent.
If Damon were here he would be shocked to find out that his empire lasted to this point he would be proud. Unfortunately, Blink was not the one who built it to the level.
The world lacked mana so man has turned to technology. Currently, their world was nearly entering the steam age. In fact, the first gun to be ever produced just happened a few months ago and currently only the imperial family and extremely high-ranking nobles had one.
The world was simply ruled by the imperial family from the capital, dishing out orders while the Regional heads of the various provinces were there to make sure his orders were carried out.
Within the provinces are the Chancellery and Secretariat which are the two major nobles, meanwhile, the minor nobles add to the department of State affairs. This contained the various ministries that cover about every branch of government in the empire.
Ministry of personnel
Ministry of revenue
Ministry of rites
Ministry of war
Ministry of Justice
Ministry of works
Each ministry had its duties and answered directly to the regional head of their province.
..... Luna palace, Home to the minister of Justice, Robert Allen .....
... Dinner time....
“I heard you visit the state library more often these days Cecile. Found anything interesting?” Robert Allen asked before gulping down a glass of wine.
He was a man in his early fifties but his black hair and mustache had already been defiled with gray hair but Robert didn’t seem to care. Unlike his peers who either cut off their hair entirely or dyed it just to conceal their age, Robert carried his with pride.
He has led the Allen family for over two decades now and he is sure he has not disappointed his ancestors.
“Mysticism, Religion, supernatural beings… the usual,” Cecile said in a low and polite tone.
He was a youth of sixteen years with curly black hair and beautiful purple eyes. Of all members of the Allen family, he was the most stunning and Robert’s personal favorite.
Unlike his eldest son who followed his path as the heir of the Allen family, Cecile was like a free bird. He never cared for the post of heir so he never got involved in matters concerning it and that’s probably why he and his brother had a really good relationship.
Robert found it fun to watch the youth seek out things he is passionate about and strangely he has learned a lot from the kid. Unlike Cecile, his knowledge was limited to things concerning the law. He wasn’t even too religious.
“Have you found anything amazing in particular?” Robert asked before stuffing his mouth with a spoon of rice.
Only after being asked this question did Cecile’s face light up like a light bulb.
“I listened more to the teaching of the one religion and the story of how the God of death was defeated by the one true God and his loyal subordinates of deities.” Cecile paused.
“What about it?” a tiny voice rang louder than everyone’s voice as a little girl of about ten years asked enthusiastically.
It was Lisa Allen, the only daughter of the Allen family. She was a ten-year-old lady with her long hair tied back into a ponytail. She has big round eyes and bright red cheeks.
“Hey, hey, calm down little tiger…” Bruce Allen joked as he ruffled her hair a bit and she tried to bight him.
Bruce was the eldest son of Robert Allen and the heir of the Allen family. He was a man in his mid-twenties with his black hair neatly combed back and the sides cut.
“Hey, don’t be rude to your big brother” A fair lady in her early forties rebuked with a stern look and Lisa looked away with teary eyes.
The rest of the family laughed at this before Cecile continued his story.
“I spoke with Father Andrew and we spoke more on the matter. He exposed how the God of death and Destruction betrayed his allies and stole their powers for himself. How he planned to consume to world forcing the one God to battle him. The story is amazing and all that but I think the person who is even more amazing is the God of death who practically fought against the whole world. I know he is the bad guy and all but he must have been cool” Cecile said and the mood in the room instantly dropped.
Robert quickly looked around as if he wanted to make sure no one heard what Cecile just said.
“Don’t say that anymore. You know how the church is and its laws. Blasphemy is punishable by death! Not even the imperial family can escape such a punishment!” Robert rebuked Cecile in a hushed tone.
