Rise of the Blood Sovereign

Chapter 95 Lyle's New Find

95  Lyle's New Find

"Now, I won't force you to do anything, none of you," Lyle said to Wan and Olman who stared at him with fear in their eyes.

"So I will give you a choice, you can be my servants and perhaps you will have a chance to get your revenge in the future, or I will simply kill both of you right here and now." Lyle's smile at the end of the sentence made the hairs on the back of the necks of Wan and Olman stand up straight as they were fully aware that he wasn't bluffing.

They had a choice that they needed to make right now, or they would die, simple as that.

Olman suddenly dropped down to his knees and stared at Lyle.

"I'll do it if it means I will have a chance to get revenge, then I will do what you ask of me."

"I have already done so for Morn, so this won't be much different, not to mention that I will take this as my punishment for spending so many years targeting the wrong person, you, and trying to take your life with no reason."

"Good." Lyle simply nodded at Olman before telling him to stand up. He then proceeded to do the same thing he did to Adam, Wan, Diana, Morn, and the others.

Olman was down on the floor in seconds, his body curling up as he did his best not to grunt in pain.

After a couple of minutes, his body relaxed and he opened his eyes before standing up and facing Lyle.

Both he and Wan had actually received great benefits from becoming servants as they were both now at the very limits of power below the Bronze Knight realm and could actually go through an evolution whenever they wanted to.

Lyle was fully aware of that, so he ordered both of them to go down to the basement. The basement was made up of three separate rooms, and one was actually a highly reinforced room that Lyle had made in order to keep any person he needed to kidnap and torture, or for his own evolution.

It was made to withstand attacks from a Golden Knight, and the two going through their respective evolutions inside the room wouldn't even be able to leave a dent.

Of course, since the room was not a large one, they would need to do it one at a time, otherwise, they risked their evolutions causing problems for the other and interfering with one another, which could lead to disastrous consequences.

The two simply nodded at Lyle before heading down, with Lyle showing them the way and where to undergo the evolution.

Upon returning, Lyle made his way over to his room as he wished to rest a bit.

Another reason was that he wanted to check a notification that he had gained after the death of Morn and his family. Because he was hurrying back, he decided not to check it out immediately and waited for now.

Ding!

[ Your servant Morn has died. ]

Ding! n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

[ The order that the host has given to his servant Morn has resulted in several deaths. ]

[ Because the deaths were indirectly caused by the host, a portion of the soul power from the victims will be given to him. ]

[ Because the servant Morn was the one to kill the victims, the soul power will be lessened. ]

Ding!

[ Because the host had used outside means to kill the people via his servant, the poison that was not made by the host, the soul power will further be diminished. ]

[ The Golden Knight Lordic has been killed, awarding soul power. ]

[ The Silver Knight …. ]

[ The Bronze Knight … ]

Lyle's level had gone up from level 51 to level 53 after the deaths of Morn's family. Most of the soul power for the level-ups came directly from Lordic, as even the small portion of the soul power was tremendous and more than any being of the Bronze Knight realm could give Lyle.

Upon seeing the notification and reading all the details, Lyle was shocked.

He never knew that ordering his servant to kill people via suicide would actually give him soul power. Adam had previously killed monsters on his order, but it never resulted in him getting any soul power from that.

Lyle figured that it was because of the order. Previously, he never forced Adam to kill anyone and the young man had done so of his own volition. This time, however, he directly used his power to control Morn and ordered him to do so, resulting in Morn himself dying.

Lyle was also unaware that using poison that Ilya had made would actually give him soul power, although much less than what he himself would get after killing someone.

Thanks to having read the beginner-level book of poisons, Lyle actually had a great amount of knowledge over poisons up to the Golden Knight realm. There were furthermore some parchments, scrolls, and diaries from Ilya that further explained a lot when it came to creating different types of poisons, plus an encyclopedia of different plants, minerals, and other types of resources that could be used for making poisons.

The encyclopedia was something that Ilya had written by himself, and god knows just how much time the old archmage had spent doing so. Now, it would be used by Lyle, and he would make sure to make full use of it.

Not only would the enemy be poisoned, but it would immediately take effect as it was in his bloodstream. With Lyle's ability, he could even have a limited effect on how quickly the poison would spread by manipulating the blood inside the enemy and making their death faster.

Most of those things were very dangerous and Lyle knew that he could never sell them, otherwise people would quickly connect the dots and would know that whoever had sold them had killed Ilya as there was no way that the old magister would sell something as valuable as that by himself.

Lyle had planned to sell a small portion of the lower-leveled stuff before, but now, he had decided against it. He would keep it, and he would make sure he studied it all before being able to create the poisons himself.

Ilya was a person whose strength was said to be on par with the old duke as even back when he was ambushed, he managed to kill most of the archmages before dying. With Lyle knowing that the old magister actually survived, he knew that the man was not only powerful but crafty as well.

He might have been able to even kill all the archmages had he wished to, just like the old duke who managed to kill most of his assassins even while being poisoned and weakened.

His poisons were feared by everyone, even those that were in the same realm as he was.

Lyle didn't know if he would be able to become as proficient and deadly with poisons as Ilya who was a natural and had the poison element as his main ability.

Still, Lyle had something that could potentially make him even more dangerous, and that was his blood manipulation.

What if Lyle was able to manipulate a small amount of blood that was poisoned on the battlefield to go into an open wound of his enemy?

Not only would the enemy be poisoned, but it would immediately take effect as it was in his bloodstream. With Lyle's ability, he could even have a limited effect on how quickly the poison would spread by manipulating the blood inside the enemy and making their death faster.

He could potentially also drink an antidote before poisoning himself. Then he could manipulate his own blood and use it to attack another person, poisoning them in a single hit without them even being aware of it.

There were so many uses that Lyle could think of with the poisons that he was quick to grow excited about it.

Poisons were used by assassins very often, after all.

Lyle didn't use them that often as he preferred using his ability to take his enemies down quickly, but in cases where the enemy was very powerful, he did use them to make the assassination easier.

Not only that, but Lyle could also use the poison vials that Ilya had left in the spatial ring in order to take down some Golden Knights and perhaps even some Titled Knights or archmages in order to quickly gain more soul power and improve his own strength.

He didn't plan on doing that, as the poisons were incredibly powerful and could be used as a last resort to defeat an enemy. It was much more beneficial for Lyle to keep the poison vials as something that could save his life in the future, and not simply to squander it away in order to level up.

Lyle was now at a slight impasse as he didn't know what to do first.

Should he first focus on hunting down monsters and improving his personal strength or should he pour all of his efforts into studying the art of poisons and improving his knowledge?

No matter which one he chose, they would be beneficial, only that improving his strength would have an immediate effect.
