You were what??"

Kian interrupted her midway. He strode towards her and held onto her arms, straightening her up.

"You were what?? Fucking tell me, goddammit!!"

Kian shook her body and she muffled her sobs with her hands trying to speak it out to him. That was not how she had pictured to tell him.

"I...I was pregnant!"

And Kian just left her there and looked away from her. He did not know how to react to that.

She was pregnant...??? How could that be possible just out of blue?? He could not perceive it...he could not get it in him...

"How long?? How fucking long??"

You are one selfish, obsessive woman and I m not going to tolerate this...this whatever game you are trying to play of making me feel guilty...a mistake that you want me to feel that I made by going with Serena which could have been stopped if I had stayed back....?"

Kian went on, not giving one chance to let her speak in between. He was not going to fall down to her game.

"You disgust me, right now!"

"It matters because I want you to let you know the truth...that she had never left...I did it. "

Valeria let out, shocking Kian. He was not expecting to hear anything close to that whatever she was going to say next.

"I paid her money to leave you because...she was getting in your way of career. After you both lost the child...I knew that she was not good for you...she would only pull you back to the darkness from where I lifted you up...I paid her a million to leave you!"

Valeria breathed out, after completely letting out the whole truth. And Kian just stood static in his position.

So did Tinsley who could only get the part more where a child...that was lost was also involved.

It made sense now why would he have reacted the way he did when he heard about Serena's daughter and hoped...that it was theirs?

"I know what I did was unforgivable...I should not have interfered...I m sorry, nephew but in this olden time...I understand how much wrong I was..."

Valeria strolled forward and tried to soothe Kian by softly gazing onto his shoulders but Kian flickered away from her touch.

"For years...I thought...I wondered why would she leave me like that all of a sudden?? Right after we had lost our child..."

Kian spoke to himself, realizing that the answer to the question that he had been searching for years...stopped recently was finally out for him.

Amidst all that, all Tinsley could hear was how he addressed the lost child as 'our' and it pierced right through her heart.

She could not stay there anymore and just slid out of the living room and ran towards her Audi.

She had heard enough, got hurt enough...seeing her lover mourning about his child lose with another woman...that was not her...

And here they had lost their second ones yet he was not ready to acknowledge it.

The rain wet her entire self as she got inside her Audi and drove away from there, wanting to be anywhere but here.

Valeria noticed that slight opening of the door and she knew who it was. She focused her attention back on Kian.

"I just want everything to fall back to its place now...now that you know that it was not Serena who left you, it was I who made her do it...she had no fault, Kian!"

Valeria was ready to take all the blame so that Kian would leave Tinsley. She could never come to terms with that marriage.

She never liked Serena...a low life woman, from a middle-class background. But yet, she was willing to compromise because she was the kind who would dance as per her say and not Tinsley.

Coming to thinking about everything, Kian realized something deep. He saw that how everyone left even when he did nothing wrong...he only tried to give them his best yet they left.

But then there was his wife...who affect everything, every hurt that he had incurred upon her, every harsh word that he had directed upon her...still she stayed, waited for him.

He at that time knew that he needed no one...it was all in the past. His present and future was his wife.

"As I said before and I will say it again, Valeria...it does not matter. I m over it...I have been over it for quite a few years now...it was hard but I had come to learn to let go of things that valued us over a million dollars..."

"It was not her fault, Kian...I forced her to..."

Valeria knew that it was not working so she tried to interrupt him to make him see it.

"My wife is born and raised in riches, Valeria...the kind of richness you and I were not born into...yet when I lost everything, she came with me, stood beside me...loved me only me when she could have just left me...there was a line of suitors for her..."

Kian stated, thinking to himself that how wrong he had been calling her selfish when in reality, she was the most selfless person...a soft woman he had ever come across.

"Yet after everything...you never came to know her..."

"What do you mean??"

Kian questioned, not understanding his aunt's words. At that moment he just wanted to go back home and see his wife.

Apologize to her for how he had treated her earlier and was also fearing if the news that she disclosed was true??

"She is the daughter of Maximus Rutherford. "

"I know that Valeria..."

He did not get it why she was bringing that up, naming Tinsley's dead father, who had never cared for his daughter.

"The very man who was the reason behind you and your mother's separation which caused her death of heartbreak..."

And Kian could not believe or neither process the words he was hearing afresh coming out of Valeria's mouth.

"It took me a month to find you in a shitty orphanage, take you up only to discover my sister...Natalie was long gone...dead over the painful separation from her only son..."

A lone tear spurted out of Valeria's eyes as she thought about those days. Kian remained rooted to his spot.

"Natalie and me...we were orphans and she settled for a simple job as a homemaker in the Rutherford Mansion while I left her to settle in the city and came across my husband...and we lost our contact with me travelling around the world with Jager..."

Valeria went on with her narration of the story. She wanted him to know why she was so against his marriage to that woman...who had a naive face to deceive the clever of men and women just like her mother, Marshally Rutherford.

"I heard you were born, I never knew who your father was but Natalie was the happiest to be your mother... it's like having you, she had found a purpose in her life to go on, live on..."

A flashback of a woman with a brunette head running around the small house after a little boy occurred in Kian's mind as Valeria went on reciting every bit of the past that he had forgotten and she never wanted him to know about it.

"I do not know much...I only know you were friends with that rich man's daughter, you guys would play around...and I suppose you fell for her...who would not...she let you on, she allowed you to kiss her when she was promised to someone else...and there was no one to see it..."

She perhaps had told you about every nice childhood moment you both shared but had she ever told you that she was the one who went to her father and accused you of kissing her..."

The boy kissed the girl, at first it was a soft one. Their lips were only touching and then when he pulled her lower lip inside his mouth, her clutch onto his shirt collar got tighter.

He deepened the kiss, cupping her face. Sitting under that mango tree, it was for the first time, he was feeling something so magical he had ever felt.

When he tried to go for round two, she had pushed him off of her and ran away as if she was against it. While he sat under the mango tree, blushing over his first kiss...their first kiss.

"The next day, you were dragged out of that small house they had given to you and your mother to live on...your mother begged for that cruel man to let you go...she was ready to leave the place with you but...well rest you know..."

Kian remained frozen in his position. Valeria turned around and peeked into his eyes.

"It was her...she did it but she will never admit that or tell you that! "
