The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

"Well done, Alcina. I haven't imagined that you'll ever get any leads with this case," Nick said as he passed the car keys to Alcina. 

Of course, that's how a sane man would say whenever they were given a case such as this one. Nick knew from the very beginning that it was impossible to get any lead for this case because for leads one needed clues and there were none. 

Yet, Alcina managed to get one. 

"Nick?" Alcina called out her name after a long time. 

"Hmm?"

Nick didn't know why but Alcina had been lost in her thoughts since she came out with a box in her hands. 

"Keep an eye on the family. And get the young lady to shift somewhere safe." 

Nick was expectedly surprised. Did they bring danger to the old woman's family? 

"Why? Are they in danger?"

"Just the old lady," Alcina told him. "She will be dying in the next few minutes."

"How did you know?" Nick turned to look at him in shock. Was she a psychic? 

However, what Alcina said next shocked Nick even further. It seemed like he didn't know her at all. 

"Because I poisoned her." 

"What?!!"

Today, the great Queen of Serpents let her pride down and called Feng Siyan to ask for help. Could her life get any worse? Today, she had to ask for help from her biggest nemesis on earth. She couldn't help but envy Feng Siyan. 

"Feng Siyan?" Alcina said as soon as he picked up the call. 

"What do you need now?" Feng Siyan said in his usual chilly voice. However, one could hear anger and annoyance in his voice. 

"A little help," Alcina said with a sigh. 

Feng Siyan was surprised to hear Alcina asking for help. Heck, he was surprised, but in a jovial way. 

"Why does the Almighty queen need the help of a mere subject like me?" Mockery and sarcasm dripped from his voice. It's not everyday he got to mock Alcina. So, how could he leave this chance? 

"Will you help me or not?" Alcina asked him with frustration. 

"Why should I?" Feng Siyan said, lifting his brow. 

"Very well. I will look for Long Jie." 

"As if he will help you…" Feng Siyan said in a singsong voice. 

"Screw you, Feng Siyan."

Long Jie was working on the case Fan Bingbing had asked him this morning. 

"Hello?" Thinking it was his subordinate's call, he picked up the phone without checking the number. 

"I need your help, Long Jie." A feminine voice spoke and Long Jie looked at the number in surprise. 

"Who are you?" Long Jie immediately asked. He didn't know this woman. 

"Remember the lady who picked up your drunk wife's phone when you called her?"

Of course, he remembered that lady quite well. It was a pity that he couldn't see her face that day properly. However, why was she calling him now? And where did she get this number?

Obviously, Zhenyi didn't give it to her. If he knew one thing about his wife, it was that she was highly possessive of him. He pitied her if she asked Zhenyi for his number. 

"My Zhenyi won't give my number to a stranger, least of all a woman." Long Jie said. His wife would shoot the woman in her eyes if they ever asked for her husband's number. 

Alcina groaned. "It hurts my ear to hear both of you saying to each other my Jie, my Zhenyi. Think about us single souls." 

Long Jie ignored what she said."I get it, I owe you a favor for that day. But how did you get the number?" 

"Is there something this Queen is not capable of finding?"

"You're --"

Certainly, it was enough for him to know who was on the other side of the phone. 

"Faye's mom. Your niece's mother." Alcina completed for him. 

"Why do you need my help?" Long Jie's anger was about to unleash. " Call Feng Siyan. Oh, but sorry to remind you none of us will ever help you."

"Let's not judge each other before knowing each other's story, " Alcina said like a proper woman. " You don't know mine and I don't know yours. I didn't poison, Lord Tang. He embraced death wholeheartedly. It was time. It has to end one day. He has to end one day." 

"I see you have also got brother's talent for words," Long Jie sneered. 

"Maybe,he learnt from me." Alcina's reply was rather nonchalant. 

"Well, what's your name?" Long Jie asked her."I can't keep on calling you 'queen.' Because my own queen won't be happy knowing I called another woman with such an inappropriate title."

Since Alcina knew what kind of woman Zhenyi was, she didn't insist. Plus, she wanted him to call her by her name. "Then you can call me sister Alcina or Ali. Whatever you like." 

"I don't have a sister, Alcina," Long Jie shattered poor Alcina's heart. "Heavens did a favour to my parents for not giving them a daughter." 

"Who knows, maybe you will be surprised one day!"

"Let's stop these little chats," Long Jie said in frustration. He didn't know how to deal with this woman. She was really a difficult woman but who was not in his life? "Tell me why did you come to me? You could have asked Feng Siyan."

"Oh, he refused to acknowledge my existence," Alcina said as a matter of fact. 

"Then, I will do the same--"

Alcina yelled before Long Jie could cut the call. "Don't cut the call. It involves my daughter."

Long Jie sighed. "Speak." 

Alcina told Long Jie a little about her problem. And how Faye's life would be in danger. And given how Long Jie was vested with Faye's security, it was natural for Alcina to know that he would certainly help her if her daughter would ever be placed in danger. 

Technically, she wasn't using him. She just knew that he would offer her help if she used Faye's name. 

Moreover, she had her trump card with her. But she wouldn't be using it till the end.
