The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Long Jie could refuse Alcina help but he didn't. Deep down, he knew she didn't come to him for help. She needed something else from him. But he didn't know what. 

Firstly, she approached his drunk and sad wife that day. Not only that but also stayed by her side until he came. He didn't know what was her intention behind protecting Zhenyi that night but he had an idea she was there for him. 

Then she called him for help when she could have asked anyone...

"I will help you, Alcina," Long Jie said to her after a while.

"But you have a condition. I get it." Alcina wasn't crazy enough to think that Long Jie would help her for free. He surely had something going on in his head. 

"How do you know?" Long Jie asked her immediately. He had to say that the girl was smarter than he had expected. 

"I have never accepted freebies, " Alcina said in a bored voice. "And neither has life ever granted me any. I have earned my life and freedom. So, please ask what you need in return." 

Of course, Long Jie was impressed with her attitude.

It was no wonder Lord Tang was obsessed enough with her to do anything for her sake. Although he didn't know the dynamics of their relationship, still he could say it was anything but platonic. She was not just Lord Tang's baby mama. There was something more to their relationship than they were letting them know. 

"It's Faye's birthday in six days," Long Jie began. 

"And?" Alcina lifted her brow in response. 

"Once she is five, we have no right over her. You will take her with you. I'm willing to help you, Alcina but you can't leave the city with Faye," Long Jie said, dropping the bomb on Alcina. It was not what Alcina had expected from Long Jie. "You will live in my mansion. I have a mansion in the city. It was supposed to be the marital home for me and Zhenyi. But since we will not be living there, you and Faye will live there." 

Long Jie knew if he let Alcina take Faye with her she would disappear and he knew that he wouldn't be able to find them again. He didn't trust her. Heck, he didn't even know if he could use Alcina and trust in one sentence. 

"Are you crazy?" Alcina screeched. "Faye will come with me because the organization or Feng Siyan or you won't be providing us mother-daughter any security. It's against Lord Tang's decision. I'm Faye's mom. I love her enough to keep her safe." 

Alcina could bear anything but not anyone's doubt for her love for her daughter. Did he believe she couldn't keep her daughter safe? Heck, if he wasn't Long Jie, she would have killed him for uttering something like this. 

"I'm not questioning your love for your daughter," Long Jie said, understanding Alcina had misunderstood his words. "Faye is Lord Tang's only living heir. Do you think I will trust you after what you did to him? Moreover, the people you just told me about. They are after you and your daughter now. I don't know what your intention is after telling me about the Zhang family because as far as I know, I have nothing to do with the Zhang clan." 

Alcina smiled inwardly. "You will thank me one day." 

"I highly doubt that," came a swift reply. 

"Don't come running to me if you ever need to know about them again." 

"I won't," Long Jie told her. "As for the condition, it's now or never." 

"Ugh. I'll take it," Alcina said. "But you can't ask your babysitters to follow me everywhere." 

"The security is for Faye's. I don't care about you," Long Jie said to her as a matter of fact. 

"I wonder what your wife sees in you, arrogant ass, that she is crazy for you, "Alcina told him. 

"And yes, stay away from my wife," Long Jie reminded her. 

"Oh, then I have to say that I'm sorry cause I and she are going to be one hell of the best friends," Alcina mischievously said. She had no intention of becoming Zhenyi's friend. She had noticed that she was a very unreliable human being. 

"Don't you dare…" 

"Bye Bye, brother. Since my daughter is your niece, it means that I'm your sister or sister-in-law or whatever you prefer from either of them." 

Before Long Jie could say something, Alcina had cut the call, leaving a complicated yet furious Long Jie. 

'This woman is trouble.' 

*KNOCK! KNOCK!* 

"Come in, " Long Jie said loudly as a knock was heard on the door. 

The private investigator came inside and Long Jie asked him to take a seat. He passed the iPad to Long Jie's side and waited for a reply. 

"You just found this?" Long Jie said once he was done reading the information on the iPad. 

The private investigator nodded. "It seems like a conspiracy, Mr. Long. However, what I found most unusual is this cop." He took out the picture of a cop. " He had been seen with Miss Qin many times outside her university. None of the time, he was in uniform. Or you can say that he is trying to protect his identity. It might also be true that Miss Qin doesn't know that he is a police officer." 

"Do you think they still suspect my wife for the murder case?" Long Jie asked. 

"The case was closed a month ago. There was no other suspect except Mrs. Long but since she had an alibi, police had to remove her from the list of the suspects," the private investigator told him. 

"Keep digging and give me a clear report before the day ends. Inquire our people in the department if any confidential mission was launched involving Xins," Long Jie informed. "I'm afraid that there is more to this problem than we are seeing. Keep an eye on this officer and Miss Qin." 

 The private investigator left soon after. 

'Officer Zheng, do you have a vendetta against my wife? Because if you have, no one can save you from my wrath.'
