Chapter 133
Chapter 133 - A Common Dog
“What?” Ye Hao exclaimed in surprise.
Xiao Ming spoke earnestly, “In Eylas, even Earth Immortals are not uncommon, so I suggest we put an end to this matter here. Besides, while a family like the Faang family may not be able to enlist the help of cultivators, it doesn't mean that cultivators will stand by and let you act recklessly.”
Ye Hao mulled over this for a while before responding, “I need to see some genuine effort from the Faang family.”
“Consider it done,” Xiao Ming replied, clearly delighted.
With Ye Hao open to negotiation, resolving the issue seemed straightforward.
About half an hour later, Xiao Ming informed Ye Hao that the Faang family was willing to offer a billion yuan in cash as compensation and would also transfer ownership of a five-star hotel and clubhouse to him.
As a result, Ye Hao decided to temporarily halt his pursuit of accountability from the Faang family.
Yet, the incident served as a wake-up call for Ye Hao.
“I must always be vigilant about my parents' safety.” With this in mind, Ye Hao had Tang Pianpian drive him to the Supernatural Bureau headquarters.
Upon arrival, Ye Hao was greeted by an unexpected sight.
Over twenty Vixens, clad in black military uniforms, were handling cases with disciplined efficiency.
“You've trained them well,” Ye Hao remarked upon seeing Xiao Ming.
“I did it to help them integrate into human society as quickly as possible,” Xiao Ming replied with a smile.
“However, I noticed that three Vixens have lost their Kidney-Yin,” Ye Hao observed, his smile tinged with irony.
“I lost control for a moment,” Xiao Ming confessed.
“So you assaulted the three of them?”
“How could it be assault? It was consensual,” Xiao Ming retorted, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Ye Hao steered the conversation in a new direction, “I came here to ask if I could borrow a couple of Vixens.”
Xiao Ming responded hastily, “They're all under my command. You already have Qingqing and the others. Isn't that enough for you?”
Ye Hao replied irritably, “What are you implying? I need them to protect my parents.”
“No,” Xiao Ming said flatly, without a second thought.
“Why not?”
“They're now operatives of the Supernatural Bureau. They can't just go off protecting civilians.”
“Is that your final word?”
“It is.”
Upon hearing Xiao Ming's firm stance, Ye Hao let out a soft sigh.
He was certain that if Xiao Ming could lend a hand, he wouldn't hesitate to do so. Now, it looked like his only option was to have Sugar covertly safeguard his parents.
Ye Hao had hoped to keep the three Vixens together, yet circumstances now demanded they part ways. Just then, a Vixen burst in.
”The city bureau just reported a talking dog spotted on Bustling Avenue.”
“A dog demon?” Ye Hao and Xiao Ming exchanged glances.
“Let us handle this,” the Vixen offered eagerly.
Xiao Ming shook his head. “I should check it out. If the dog demon hasn't caused any trouble, I'll suggest it joins the Supernatural Bureau.”
“I'll have a look too,” Ye Hao said, struck by a thought. He recalled the beast control seal from the black dragon's memories. He could certainly tame the dog demon!
Guided by a Vixen, Ye Hao and Xiao Ming headed to Bustling Avenue, which the police had temporarily cordoned off. After Xiao Ming presented his credentials, they reached the spot where the dog demon had vanished.
Xiao Ming recited a few incantations, and a Binding Charm materialized. An unsightly common dog slowly came into view.
“Are you a disciple of the Keepers of Forbidden Lore?”
“Just because you're a disciple, doesn't mean you can detain me at will.” The common dog's front paws thrashed violently, breaking the Binding Charm.
“We have to catch it,” Ye Hao said, and they both set off in pursuit.
They quickly reached a temple. As Ye Hao made to enter, Xiao Ming held him back.
“There's a restrictive aura over this temple. Charging in recklessly could be dangerous,” Xiao Ming cautioned.
“Look there,” Ye Hao pointed to the dog hole the common dog had used.
Xiao Ming nodded in agreement.
Without a moment's delay, Ye Hao dove into the dog hole. Halfway through, he noticed Xiao Ming had already appeared in the courtyard.
“How did you manage that?”
“With a wall-penetrating rune,” Xiao Ming explained, affixing a yellow rune to himself and stepping through the wall, much to Ye Hao's chagrin.
Ye Hao flipped Xiao Ming the bird.
Xiao Ming burst into laughter and took off after the common dog.
Brushing the dirt off himself, Ye Hao quickly joined the pursuit.
Before long, they found the disheveled common dog collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath.
“Why'd you stop running?” Xiao Ming asked, closing in on the common dog.
The dog had just shattered its Monster Capturing Charm. He had thought it was quite formidable.
“Why are you two chasing me?” the common dog demanded, glaring at Xiao Ming and Ye Hao.
“You're a demon. You have no business roaming around a human city,” Ye Hao said with a smile.
“I'm just wandering; I haven't harmed anyone.”
“If that's true, then why speak at all?”
“I was asking for directions at the time.”
“Don't you find it astonishing that a common dog can talk?”
“I am not a common dog. Refer to me as Dog Lord.”
Ye Hao eyed the common dog, feeling a sudden urge to thrash it.
It was utterly shameless!
“Do you think I won't skin you and make you into a dog meat hot pot?”
“You wouldn't dare,” the common dog shot back, rising to its feet and staring down Ye Hao menacingly.
“Why wouldn't I?” Ye Hao retorted, but then he noticed runes materializing around them, quickly transforming into pulsating waves.
“This common dog has trapped us in a formation,” Xiao Ming exclaimed, taken aback.
“Don't call me a common dog,” the dog retorted, squinting its eyes. “I'm in the mood for a human flesh hot pot.”
“Small Five Elements Formation,” Ye Hao muttered, unfamiliar with the formation, though the black dragon recognized it.
Curiously, the formation was defensive in nature.
Why had the common dog lured them into a defensive formation?
“Isn't the idea of a human flesh hot pot revolting to you?” Ye Hao inquired while contemplating how to dismantle the Small Five Elements Formation.
The common dog scoffed. “You're not disgusted by the thought of a dog meat hot pot, so why should I be repulsed by a human one? I suggest you stop wasting time. If you can't break this formation, you're both as good as dead.”
“Xiao Ming, you try to break the formation,” Ye Hao said, turning to his companion.
“I'm not familiar with this formation,” Xiao Ming lamented, his face clouded with dismay.
Although Xiao Ming had a wealth of knowledge on various formations, this particular one was completely new to him.
Ye Hao quickly devised a strategy.
It appeared that the Small Five Elements Formation might be a relic from ancient times.
