Chapter 134
Chapter 134 - Dragon Orb
The Keepers of Forbidden Lore certainly had an extensive history, yet they paled in comparison to the Dragon Clan.
The Dragon Clan had been around since ancient times.
They were known for their penchant for collecting not only exotic treasures but also powerful legacies.
Ye Hao wasn't sure if the Small Five Elements Formation was an ancient formation, but he was aware that solving it would be no simple task.
He weaved through the formation relentlessly.
Meanwhile, the common dog kept a watchful eye on Ye Hao's every move.
Gradually, the operation of the Small Five Elements Formation began to decelerate. Then, with a swift motion, Ye Hao reached into the void.
Simultaneously, the active Small Five Elements Formation came to an abrupt halt and vanished, leaving Xiao Ming staring in disbelief.
“You've broken the formation?” Xiao Ming exclaimed.
Ye Hao revealed his hand, which held five shining crystals.
“What are these?”
“Five Elements Crystals, essential for formation crafting,” Ye Hao explained as he stowed the crystals into his Cosmos Bag.
He had resolved to install the Small Five Elements Formation at his villa once he returned, having previously lacked the necessary materials to do so.
As they conversed, a door materialized before them.
Excitement gleamed in the common dog's eyes upon seeing the door. “At last, I've found it,” it declared.
“Was your goal to bring us here just to assist you with the formation?” Ye Hao inquired.
The common dog nodded, admitting, “I didn't anticipate your true ability. Since you both aided me in breaking the formation, I will allow you to depart.”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Ming charged at the common dog, whispering, “Mystic Binding Ritual.”
As Xiao Ming approached the common dog, he released a golden rune from his mouth. This rune enveloped the common dog completely. Then, lightning crackled from Xiao Ming's hand.
This technique was known as Palm Thunder, a Mystic Binding Ritual.
But Xiao Ming's expression quickly turned to one of shock when the Mystic Binding Ritual was effortlessly shredded by the common dog. In the same instant, the dog's tongue shot out, coating him in a foul-smelling slime.
Ye Hao was taken aback by the sight.
“Heavenly Thunder Spell.” With Ye Hao's growing mastery, the Heavenly Thunder Spell's might was increasingly formidable. A lightning bolt, as thick as a child's arm, cleaved through the air and struck the common dog with ferocious intensity.
The common dog's fur bristled instantly as it fixed a cold glare on Ye Hao.
“You're courting death.”
With a thunderous explosion, the common dog erupted with boundless power. Like a hurricane, this force unleashed itself chaotically in all directions.
Xiao Ming collapsed to the ground, unconscious as if he were a plummeting kite.
Ye Hao was in no better shape. He too lost consciousness upon hitting the ground.
The common dog pounced, landing in front of Ye Hao. Its claws pinned Ye Hao's shoulders, its fangs bared, ready to sink into Ye Hao's neck.
But as the dog's fangs barely grazed Ye Hao's neck, Ye Hao's eyes snapped open, now filled with an icy chill.
The common dog recoiled from its attack. As it met Ye Hao's gaze, its body shook, as if in the presence of a superior being.
A roar erupted from Ye Hao's throat.
A fearsome force brutally pierced through the common dog's consciousness sea. It yelped and tumbled backward in agony.
“Dragon's Roar,” the common dog observed, staring at Ye Hao who was approaching slowly, its eyes wide with terror.
It realized it had antagonized someone far beyond its league.
The issue was, Ye Hao didn't exhibit any Dragon's Might. Otherwise, it would never have dared to challenge him.
“Senior, I meant no disrespect. Please, forgive my transgression,” the common dog pleaded.
Ye Hao approached the common dog and rasped, “Submit to me, or die.”
Uncertainty flickered in the common dog's eyes, but it quickly declared, “I pledge my loyalty to you.”
“Open your mind.”
Without hesitation, the common dog complied, leaving its mind vulnerable to Ye Hao's will.
Once Ye Hao had implanted the beast control seal within the common dog's consciousness sea, the dog's gaze softened into one of reverence and submission.
Gradually, the iciness in Ye Hao's eyes melted away, replaced by a look of clarity and bewilderment.
As Ye Hao observed the common dog sitting obediently before him, tail wagging, he was taken aback.
“Master, is something amiss?” the common dog inquired, tongue lolling.
“Master?” Ye Hao looked at the common dog, somewhat taken aback.
Just then, Ye Hao suddenly became aware of a new rune within his consciousness sea.
The beast control seal!
When Ye Hao activated the beast control seal, the common dog began to roll around frantically.
“Master, if I've done something wrong, please tell me. Just don't activate the beast control seal!”
Upon hearing this, Ye Hao ceased using the beast control seal.
He massaged his temples, feeling somewhat bewildered.
“Recount everything that just happened,” Ye Hao demanded, fixing his gaze on the common dog.
Though the common dog didn't understand why Ye Hao wanted it to repeat the story, it narrated the events truthfully.
“The Dragon Orb protected me,” Ye Hao realized at last.
He recalled such a memory from the black dragon's legacy.
With this realization, a shiver of fear ran through him. How fortunate he was to be in this temple; had he unleashed the Dragon's Might in public, the Three Sects and Six Factions surely would not have spared him.
“What's your name?” Ye Hao asked after a moment's thought.
“Dog Lord.”
“From now on, you'll be known as Cisco,” Ye Hao decided on the spot, renaming the common dog without hesitation.
A look of utter dejection crossed Cisco's face.
“What lies beyond that door?”
“Treasure.”
“Don't give me that,” Ye Hao retorted, slapping Cisco.
With a woeful expression, Cisco replied, “Master, I truly don't know what's inside. I only stumbled upon this place because of the light emanating from it.”
Ye Hao stroked his chin, pondering for a moment. “Let's go in and have a look.”
Naturally, Cisco was the first to enter.
Ye Hao had come to understand Cisco's level of cultivation; he possessed the third layer of Blood Refining.
Only a few moments after entering, Cisco came back out.
“Master, there's a cave inside.”
“A cave?” A gleam of excitement flashed in Ye Hao's eyes at the news.
