You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing hummed a song as she walked out of the bathroom with a towel on her head. She continued to dry her hair as she walked around the room. However, her movement halted the moment her gaze fell on the invitation card on her desk.

It has been a few days since the card has been resting on her desk. However, Song Xing Xing still had not made any decision regarding Lu Xun's invitation to the event.

She knew well what does accompanying Lu Xun to this event would mean.

At this time, Lu Xun was still chasing after her.

However, if she decided to show up at this event with him, then, it would be the same as confirming that they are together. There will be a lot of people at the event as well as reporters. With Lu Xun's identity, it would be impossible for them to avoid the reporters from taking their pictures together.

Should she accompany Lu Xun to this event?

A slight frown appeared on her face as Song Xing Xing was deep in her thought.

There are still a few weeks left for her to think and make up her mind.

Song Xing Xing dressed up and was heading to the kitchen to prepare something to eat. Just as she pulled the refrigerator door open, her phone on the table rang.

A look of surprise appeared on her face when she saw Song Yi's name on the caller ID. At the thought that her cousin was looking for her for an urgent matter, Song Xing Xing quickly picked up the phone.

"Xing Xing." Surprisingly, it was Han Yue Xiu's voice on the other line.

"Sister-in-law?"

"Xing Xing, you are still at your apartment, right?"

"En. Sister-in-law, is there something wrong?"

Han Yue Xiu laughed at the other line. "Xing Xing, your cousin and I are downstairs. Earlier, grandmother sent some food from Y City. We come over to send some items to you."

Song Xing Xing could hear Song Xiao Jun's laughing happily on the other line. "Then, I'll let the guards know. Sister-in-law, just come upstairs."

Five minutes later, the family of three appeared in front of her door. Song Yu was carrying a large box in his hand while his wife was carrying the little boy. 

The moment Xiao Jun saw her, the baby started to wave his hand around and laughed happily.

Song Xing Xing stepped aside to let them come in.

Mr. Fluffball come to the door when he noticed that guests were coming to visit. The moment he saw the family of three, Mr. Fluffball walked over and started to rub his head on Song Yi's legs.

Song Xing Xing became speechless when she saw this scene.

Why does it feel as if Mr. Fluffball was getting familiar with men? Previously, this cat would not get close to other men. However, after Lu Xun, it seemed that Mr. Fluffball was not as hostile to men as he used to be.

Could it be that he no longer hate being around men? 

One of these days, she should take Mr. Fluffball around the park and test to see if her cat had indeed changed.

As the family of three walked in, Xiao Jun started to scream upon seeing Mr. Fluffball. His tiny hands stretched out to touch the cat. However, he was restricted in her mother's embrace.

"Are you heading to your office after this?" Han Yue Xiu asked. She watched the girl nodded and continued. "Then, have you had your breakfast yet?"

"Not yet. I was planning to whip something quick." She watched as Song Yi placed the box on the table and peeked inside. There were a few local products from Y City as well as some pickles that her grandmother had preserved.

"Don't cook. Let's go out and have breakfast together," Han Yue Xiu said. "Your cousin will send you over to the office later."

Song Xing Xing wanted to decline. "There's no need."

"Un. Let's go." Song Yi said.

Seeing that she did not have a way to refuse them. She quickly excused herself and went back to her room to get ready. As she closed the door, Song Xing Xing pulled out her phone and texted Lu Xun that he did not have to come over and pick her up at her apartment.

Song Xing Xing did not check for his reply. She went out with her purse as she did not want to let them wait for her for too long.

However, the moment she walked out of her room, Song Yi was holding his son as he accompanied the baby to tease Mr. Fluffball.

Her movement halted the moment she noticed that the way Han Yue Xiu was looking at her was a little strange. It made her wonder if she had done something wrong.

"Sister-in-law, why are you looking at me like that?"

She watched as Han Yue Xiu approached her and instinctively put her guard up.

Han Yue Xiu peeked at her husband and child. Seeing that the two were still preoccupied with that cat, she inched closer and whispered, "Xing Xing." Her lips curled into a strange smile. "Are you dating someone?"

Her eyes widened. Song Xing Xing stared back at Han Yue Xiu in horror. Her heartbeat accelerated at the thought that her sister-in-law might have figured out something.

"Sister-in-law, don't joke around."

"Really?" The teasing smile on Han Yue Xiu's lips remained. 

A men's coat appeared out of nowhere. Song Xing Xing stared at this garment and forced herself to calm down. 

This coat… wasn't this belong to Lu Xun? When did he leave it at her apartment?

Her expression froze when Song Xing Xing noticed that there is a lot of cat fur on this coat. It seemed that Mr. Fluffball has been rolling around in this coat.

"Then, why is there a man's coat in your living room?" Han Yue Xiu asked. She patted at Song Xing Xing's shoulder and laughed. "Don't worry. I won't say a word to your cousin."

"Sister-in-law, where did you find this?"

Han Yue Xiu pointed towards Mr. Fluffball's apartment. "Just behind your cat's playground."

The corner of her lips started to twitch. She really did not know what was wrong with her cat these days. 

"Quickly, tell me who is that person," Han Yue Xiu spoke. "A co-worker?"

Song Xing Xing quickly came up with an excuse.  "Sister-in-law, you guessed it wrong. This belonged to my brother. Last time he came over to visit, remember?"

"Really?" Han Yue Xiu was still suspicious.. However, as she could not detect anything from Song Xing Xing's expression, Han Yue Xiu could only let this matter go.
