You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing left Lu Xun's place after lunch. 

As she glanced at the person in the driver's seat, Song Xing Xing had this feeling as if she was being tricked to stay at Lu Xun's place for a long time. The traffic was a little heavy as many decided to head out with their family and friends. However, a certain someone does not seem to mind the traffic at all.

She continued to watch him for a while before she spoke, "You're going to Y City tomorrow, right?"

"Mhm… there's some business that I need to deal with."

"When will you depart?"

"My flight is in the early morning." He glanced at her and smiled. "Are you going to send me to the airport?"

"Do you want me to?"

Lu Xun chuckled. He stretched his hand and patted her head. "It's fine. Assistant Bei Yuan will be going with me as well. You should stay home and sleep for a while longer."

Song Xing Xing shrunk her neck as he touched her head. A light smile curled on her lips. Song Xing Xing found that she liked the way he patted her head. 

The vehicle continued to crawl forward until it stopped again due to traffic.

"Song Xing Xing."

"Hmm?"

Lu Xun hesitated for a while before he asked, "Regarding the event that I have mentioned to you previously… have you given it a thought?"

Lu Xun tightened his grip around the steering wheel just as the question came out from his mouth. When he had decided to invite her to the event, Lu Xun was still unaware that Song Xing Xing had a special reason that why she did not want others to know about her identity.

However, Lu Xun had his reason why he wanted the girl to appear at the event with him as well.

Attending this event with him would be equal to agreeing to be with him.

Although he knew that it was still early and that he had not done enough to chase her, Lu Xun really wanted to introduce this girl as his girlfriend to everyone in his circle. 

Once he had made his decision to pursue her, Lu Xun had put his mind on it and tried his best to do whatever he could to pursue her. Each day that he spent his time pursuing her, Lu Xun realized that he really like being with Song Xing Xing.

This girl was different than him. However, he thought that the two of them are very compatible.

To ask her again about this matter made him anxious. He wanted her to give him the answer he wanted. But at the same time, he did not want to trouble her with this matter. 

Lu Xun glanced at the girl beside him again. Seeing her lips pursed tightly made his feeling a little complicated.

He could not help but be a little disappointed. t this time, Lu Xun was convinced that she did not want to go with him. Even though he understood her reason, he was still hoping that she would agree to go with him.

"If you are worried that you would be photographed together with me, you can be rest assured," Lu Xun spoke after a long silence between them. "I will protect you well and won't let others find out your identity." He flashed her a smile. "You know very well how capable I am. I won't let them take pictures of you or leak anything about you."

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips and did not give him an answer.

Seeing that the girl had continued to keep his silence, a hint of disappointment flashed on his face briefly. Lu Xun was about to change his mind and tell her that he did not mind if she did not want to attend the event with him.

However, before he could open his mouth to speak, Song Xing Xing had already beaten him to it.

"Sure. I will go with you."

Hearing her sudden answer made him startle. The vehicle stopped for a long time until someone pressed their horn to warn him. Lu Xun turned to focus on his driving and did not speak for a long time. Her answer excited him to the point that he needed time to calm down. He did not think that he would be able to continue this conversation while he was still driving.

However, seeing the way he had behaved made Song Xing Xing a little puzzled. It gave her this feeling as if he did not like her answer.

Wasn't he was waiting for a positive answer from her? Why would he suddenly behave this way?

Her heartbeat turned chaotic as a lot of different thoughts went through her mind.

The rest of their journey to her house was silent. 

When he finally pulled over at her apartment, Lu Xun turned around to look at her for a long time. The way he was looking at her made her feel embarrassed.

"Xing Xing, you realized what does attending such an event with me would mean, do you? Have you thought about this properly?"

"Un. I know," Song Xing Xing spoke. 

After Lu Xun had asked her to accompany him to this event, Song Xing Xing had thought of this matter for a long time. These past few days, she had been observing him. 

Initially, she was still doubting his intention when he had told her that he wanted to pursue her. However, she could see that this time, he was sincere and was not trying to pull a trick on her. Although she was unsure of how much he liked her, Song Xing Xing knew that he was working hard to pursue her.

The most important thing is that she also liked him a lot. Each time that Lu Xun was near her, Song Xing Xing had this feeling as if her heart would burst any minute. It made her feel a little silly... in a good way.

"I have thought about it clearly. I will attend this event with you."

Lu Xun tried to content hi excitement. "You know that once you agreed, our relationship would also change, right?"

She turned to meet his gaze. "I know."

A wide smile spread on his lips. 

Seeing the bright smile on his face stunned her. She did not think that her answer would make him this happy.

Lu Xun unfastened his seat belt and finally turned to Song Xing Xing to hug her. 

His scent filled her nose as he pressed her face into his chest. Her face turned red in embarrassment. "You... what are you doing? Let me go first."

"Song Xing Xing." There was a trace of exhilaration as he spoke her name. "Thank you. I promise that I won't make you regret this."

She lowered her gaze as she let him hug her. "Un. I know.

Lu Xun pressed his lips on her temple and pulled away to look at her. His eyes behind the glasses sparkled brightly.. "Wait for me until I get back from Y City. Then, we will talk again, alright?"
