You're My Only Star

On the day of the award, Huo Yun Chen left the hotel early in the morning with his assistant and manager.

As Xia Yu woke up later, the temperature on the mattress was already cold. After reading the note that Huo Yun Chen had left for her, Xia Yu went to get her breakfast. After washing up, she changed her clothes and went to Celine's studio.

When Xia Yu entered the boutique, Song Xing Xing had already arrived. This time, the twin babies were not accompanying her.

"The girls are not coming with you?"

Song Xing Xing laughed when she heard the question. "I wished I could bring them along with me. My Mom heard that we will be attending this award and had offered to look after the babies. Only now that I can be more at ease."

Seeing that they both had arrived, Celine invited both of them into the fitting room for the final adjustment.

Once she was sure that they would not need to make any more adjustments, Celine sent them both to the makeup room and let the artist do her job.

Xia Yu had thought that it was too early for them to start on their makeup. She clearly did not expect that applying make-up and setting up her hair would take them hours.

When it was finally done, Xia Yu almost could not believe that the person in the mirror was her.

By the time she had put on her dress, there was a few times left for them to head to the event hall. After checking herself in the mirror one last time, Xia Yu walked out and met with Song Xing Xing.

"Xing Xing, what do you think? Do you think I look okay?"

Song Xing Xing gave her a look over and gave her two thumbs up. "You're more than okay. You're stunning."

Her head lowered. It was rare for Xia Yu to wear a dress or put on makeup like this. Naturally, she was very worried.

Moreover, this would be her first appearance with Huo Yun Chen in public. She wanted to look her best and won't let him be embarrassed.

"You're all set. Let's head out first." Song Xing Xing smiled. "Huo Yun Chen should be arriving anytime soon, right?"

Xia Yu tightened her grip on her bag. Thinking that he would be seeing her in this dress made her anxious again. She looked at her phone and saw that he had texted her almost ten minutes ago to tell her that he had arrived at the studio.

Taking a deep breath, Xia Yu walked out and finally saw Huo Yun Chen sitting at the lounge area with President Lu Xun. The men were chatting but they quickly stopped when they heard the sound of her heels clicking.

Her heartbeat accelerated. Xia Yu watched as the man raised his head slowly and met her gaze.

Although she had seen him in his suit and tie many times before, this was the first time that she could see him closely like this.

Suddenly, her surroundings turned quiet. Xia Yu could not hear anything other than the sound of her heartbeat.

The man was watching her intently until she became embarrassed. She could not handle his gaze and chose to lower her head.

Huo Yun Chen finally stood up and walked over. Before he arrived at her side, Huo Yun Chen stopped on his track and gave her a lookover.

It was a black long dress with high neck and lace details. Her legs looked long and her waist was thin. Her make-up was beautiful and her long hair was pulled to her left.

His Xia Yu was very beautiful.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Xia Yu grew anxious the more that he looked at her "Do I look weird?"

"No." He smiled. "You look beautiful."

A red tinge appeared on her face. Huo Yun Chen offered his hand and spoke, "Come on. We should go now or we'll be late."

Xia Yu held his arm tightly and took in another deep breath.

"What's wrong? Are you nervous?"

Xia Yu flashed a smile at him. "No. It's just that, I am not used to wearing high heels. I'm afraid that walking too fast would make me fall."

"Then, just hold on to me. You can use me as your support," Huo Yun Chen whispered. "I'll make sure you won't fall."

After exchanging a few words with Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun, the couple finally left the boutique. Huo Yun Chen will need to walk on the red carpet and had to arrive at the event earlier than President Lu Xun.

The driver was already waiting for them outside the boutique.

Huo Yun Chen put his hand on his back to support her and finally noticed that something was wrong. The warm feeling on his skin told him that the dress that his girlfriend was wearing was the one with a backless design.

To confirm his suspicion, Huo Yun Chen waited as Xia Yu entered the car first.

His eyes darkened when he saw that it was indeed a backless design. There were lace designs covering half of her skin, but... Huo Yun Chen could not help thinking of how beautiful her shoulder blade looked in this dress.

Her back was too... alluring.

His throat bobbed. Suddenly, he had this urge to bite the spot and leave some marks. The red marks would look pretty against her white skin.

However, before he could get a closer look at her back, Xia Yu was already seated, blocking his view.

"What's wrong?" Xia Yu asked when she noticed that he had not come in.

"Nothing." Huo Yun Chen coughed. He entered the car and narrowed his eyes. It seemed that once this event has ended, he will need to look closely at her back again.

Huo Yun Chen took a few deep breaths to calm down. He held her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "You don't have to be nervous when we walked on the red carpet later. You just have to look at me."

"I know." Xia Yu nodded.

"When the award began, you can sit with Xing Xing and her husband," Huo Yun Chen continued. "This way, you would not feel that awkward.. When my part is done, I will come over and get you."
