You're My Only Star

After the event ended, Huo Yun Chen spent his time backstage to meet a few people that he needed to meet before he could finally go and find his Xia Yu.

When he arrived at her side, both Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun were still around to accompany her.

Huo Yun Chen picked up his pace and arrived at her side. He was a little stunned upon meeting Xia Yu's gaze.

"Congratulations," Xia Yu whispered. Her lips could not stop smiling as she recalled his speech on the stage earlier.

Huo Yun Chen took her hand in his and tightened his hold. He wanted to kiss his girlfriend but he will have to wait for a while.

"Huo Yun Chen, congratulations," Lu Xun spoke. "Since you managed to bag in the trophy for both categories, the company will be generous to you. I'll let them give you a bonus."

"Thank you, President Lu."

The group continued to exchange a few words before Song Xing Xing mentioned that they have to leave earlier. Her babies were at home and she was starting to miss the girls.

After the Lu couple had left, there were a few people who went to Huo Yun Chen's side to congratulate his winning.

A celebrity that Xia Yu had seen on the television walked over to congratulate Huo Yun Chen. The two of them spoke for a while before the celebrity asked, "Are you going to attend the after-party?"

"No. This time I'll have to pass." Huo Yun Chen glanced at Xia Yu and smiled. "I'm still not ready to meet those reporters and answer their question about Yan Yi Xie."

After talking to a few more people, Huo Yun Chen finally took Xia Yu out to leave the hall. When they arrived at the car, Huo Yun Chen's manager, Brother Xiang was already waiting for him outside.

"Congratulations," Brother Xiang nodded. He passed the car keys to Huo Yun Chen and continued, "I already let someone divert the reporters away. You should be safe leaving in this car."

Huo Yun Chen nodded. "Brother Xiang, thank you."

The manager waved his hand. "Don't mention it." He glanced at Xia Yu and continued, "If there's nothing else, I will go first. Just call me if you encountered anything."

Brother Xiang turned around and entered the vehicle that has been waiting for him under the tree.

Huo Yun Chen watched as his manager leave before he helped Xia Yu into the car. Once he slid into the driver's seat, his brow furrowed upon noticing the way Xia Yu has been rubbing her feet.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm not used to wearing high heels for a long time," Xia Yu said.

It was fine when she was sitting down but she had to stand in the heels for a long time as she was waiting for Huo Yun Chen to finish talking with a few people who came to congratulate him.

"It will be alright after a while," Xia Yu continued. "I'll apply some ointment once we go back."

Huo Yun Chen nodded. "Are you hungry? I already booked a restaurant a while ago. Let's go and grab something to eat before we go back, alright?"

Xia Yu naturally did not have any objection.

To attend this award with Huo Yun Chen, she did not get to eat too much. She was anxious and did not have too much appetite as she waited for Huo Yun Chen to appear on stage.

Now that everything is over, her stomach was grumbling, asking to be filled. Moreover, she still wanted to celebrate his winning together.

Huo Yun Chen drove over to a western restaurant on the hillside with a very nice city view.

When they arrived, the waiter ushered them upstairs to a private room.

Xia Yu walked around and noticed that the atmosphere around them was too quiet. They did not run into another guest, making her wonder if this place was still open for business.

However, the thought was quickly thrown at the back of her mind when Xia Yu saw the beautiful scenery outside the window.

The sky was dark and the city looked beautiful with the night light.

Huo Yun Chen pulled the chair for her before he sat down across her.

Xia Yu looked at the menu in her hand and was about to say something when she noticed that Huo Yun Chen's hand seemed to be trembling. She reached to put her hand on his and asked. "What's wrong?"

The man looked up with a puzzled look on his expression.

"Are you cold?" Xia Yu asked. "Your hands seemed to be trembling."

Huo Yun Chen let out a cough. "Nothing. Maybe I still could not get over the excitement of winning two awards this night."

Xia Yu laughed. She watched as he ordered their three courses meal and the two of them talked about the award as they waited for their food to arrive.

As they ate their food, Xia Yu could not help thinking that there was something wrong with her boyfriend. The man seemed anxious and his mind seemed to wander from time to time.

Thinking that he was still overwhelmed after the award, Xia Yu did not mind too much about it.

Their main course came to an end and the waiter brought in their dessert.

Huo Yun Chen's eyes lit up the moment he saw the chocolate on the plate. From the moment the waiter brought the plate into the room and placed it in front of Xia Yu, Huo Yun Chen was unable to retract his gaze.

"This looked nice." Xia Yu could not help but admire the chef's skills.

The dessert on her plate was too pretty. On the edge of the plate was a small heart-shaped box made of chocolate.

The berry sauce was lined at the side of the chocolate box. The glistering berries around the chocolate made it look like jewelry. Then, on the other sides, were the hazelnut crumble to give the dessert a little bit of texture.

It was very beautiful and colorful. Xia Yu could not resist snapping a few pictures of it.

However, she then recalled that she had ordered a mousse cake.

"Is this a mousse cake?" Xia Yu looked up.

"Mmm... It's probably in the chocolate box." Huo Yun Chen suggested.

Xia Yu examined the plate before she raised her cutlery. Just before she could cut through the chocolate box with her knife, Huo Yun Chen had stopped her first.

"Why don't you open the box and take a look?"

Xia Yu blinked. "Do you think the box can be open?" She poked at the chocolate a few times, almost giving Huo Yun Chen a heart attack.

"The design seemed like it," Huo Yun Chen said. "Why don't you try first?"

Xia Yu hesitated for a while. She gave Huo Yun Chen a look before lifting the lid with her knife.

Then, something caught her eyes.

Inside the chocolate box was the mousse cake that she wanted to eat, but that was not what caught her eyes.

On the center of the box was a ring with diamonds on top. Xia Yu held her breath as she continued to look at the ring.. Her mind was blank and she did not know what was going on.
