You're My Only Star

Lu Xun sat outside the room for a long time. When he finally snapped out of his thought, Lu Xun went over to find Assistant Xiao Ye at the lounge area. As he started to discuss a few business matters, Lu Xun started to forget about the exchange with Song Xing Xing outside the room.

After a while, Song Yi walked out of the private room with his family.

Assistant Xiao Ye saw the same scene and excused himself to speak a few words with Song Yi. Song Yi and his big boss, Zhang Yu Han are good friends. As Song Yi and his family were now leaving the hotel, of course, Xiao Ye had to send them out politely.

Lu Xun immediately walked over behind the tall artificial trees. He pulled out his phone and sent some text messages to Assistant Bei Yuan to remind him of a few work matters. He heard a few movements behind him and saw that a few customers were sitting nearby.

Just as he thought that he should ignore them, Lu Xun overheard their conversations. Lu Xun turned around and saw that Song Xing Xing accompanying Han Yue Xiu and the baby to sit at the lounge area.

From where he stood, Lu Xun could hear the girl's voice, teasing the baby. Lu Xun figured that if he was to come out, the girl would definitely have a complicated look on her face before she avoided him.

Han Yue Xiu hugged the baby in her arms and turned to the girl beside her. "Last time, you told me about the person you liked. Xing Xing, how is it? Is there any progress with that person?"

Song Xing Xing paused when she heard the question. She looked at the baby and pinched at his chubby cheek softly. "I'm giving it up?"

Han Yue Xiu looked at the girl in surprise. The last time she talked to Song Xing Xing, the girl had made her mind that she wanted to give it a try and pursue that man. She did not think that after a while, this girl would tell her that she wanted to give up pursuing that love.

It was the first time that Song Xing Xing had liked someone, but it had ended so soon.

"What happened?" Han Yue Xiu asked.

Her lips curled into a faint smile. "Sister-in-law, I found out that he did not like me."

"And you are going to give up just like that?"

"I'm not like my cousin. He's too shameless."

Han Yue Xiu laughed upon hearing her words. The two of them looked around and were relieved to see that Song Yi was not around to hear those words. They were making fun of him. Song Yi would not be happy when he heard those words.

"Sister-in-law, I think it's better to let go instead of holding on to something that clearly did not belong to me," Song Xing Xing said. "I'm afraid that if I stubbornly obsessed over someone, then, I might lose myself. It will only make me suffer."

"Xing Xing, Yue Xiu."

Song Xing Xing looked up and saw that her mother had returned from the restroom. The girls stood up together before they left the scene to find Song Yi.

As everyone had left, Lu Xun continued to stand at his spot, staring at his phone for a long time. No one could guess what was on his mind at this time.

Special Assistant Bei Yuan tapped his feet impatiently. In his hand was a medium-sized package, some letters, as well as some important files that the President had requested from him earlier.

The moment the elevator door slid open, Bei Yuan walked out and head straight to the President's office. After knocking his knuckle on the door, Bei Yuan entered and walked to the desk.

"President Lu Xun," Bei Yuan greeted before he placed the stuff on the empty side of the desk.

"The files?"

Bei Yuan quickly found the files that the President had requested before he handed them to his boss. He watched as his boss flipped through the files and finally heaved with relief upon seeing that the boss had jotted down his signature.

The past few days, this big boss was easily irritated and kept on finding mistakes on every document they sent.

No one knew what had happened to this big boss but everyone guessed that it was best if they stay out of the President's line of sight just in case they might accidentally ignite his anger.

These days, Special Assistant Bei Yuan had suffered a lot. He was always the one who had to bring over reports and documents to the President. As Bei Yuan thought of what he had to experience, he really wanted to shed some tears.

"What were those other documents?" Lu Xun asked as he glanced at the piling documents.

Bei Yuan halted. He reached the documents and spoke, "I was passing by the HR department earlier. Manager An wanted to pass these documents to you. They were the candidates that had passed the interview."

Lu Xun took the files from Bei Yuan and flipped through the documents. His movement halted the moment he saw the picture on the resume. Swiftly, he picked up the resume and forms and threw them on the floor.

Assistant Bei Yuan watched his boss with his eyes wide. This was the first time that he had seen his boss tossing some documents in anger. Previously, no matter how angry his boss would be, he would only say a few words. Bei Yuan had never seen President Lu Xun acting this aggressively.

"President Lu, what's wrong?"

"Tell Manager An that this person is impossible. None of the company or subsidiaries under NEXT Group will hire this person."

Bei Yuan swallowed. He went over to pick up the resume and looked at the picture. Bei Yuan thought that the person is beautiful and her qualification is quite high. He could not understand why would the President reject this candidate.

However, he was not that stupid to ask the reason and suffer his boss's anger.

Bei Yuan picked up the package and handed it over to Lu Xun. "It seemed that Miss Song Xing Xing sent you something." He only dared to bring the package personally because his big boss had once told him to watch over Miss Song.
