You're My Only Star

Lu Xun tore the packaging and looked inside. There was only one piece of clothing that he had lent to Song Xing Xing some time ago. From the way it looked, this coat has been sent to dry-cleaning before she mailed it back to him.

When she told him that she was going to return his coat the other day, Lu Xun had thought that she would send it back personally. He did not think that the girl would really mail it to him.

It seemed that the girl had really made up her mind.

He should be relieved, but Lu Xun felt very uncomfortable. It was as if there was something stuck in his throat and he was unable to get rid of it.

The phone on his desk rang, snapping him out of his trance. Lu Xun pressed the receiver on his ear and heard from the secretary that his sister had come to see him.

A look of surprise appeared on his face.

His sister, Lu An Ran was supposed to be in C Country. Why was she at his company at this time?

Lu Xun grabbed his phone and looked at the date. He touched his forehead and groaned. His lips moved as he muttered a cursing word. It seemed that he had forgotten that he was supposed to pick up his sister at the airport.

"President Lu, are you alright?" Special Assistant Bei Yuan asked when he saw the strange look on his boss's expression.

Just then, the door swung open and a beautiful woman walked into the office.

Special Assistant Bei Yuan was about to scold the person who had entered the room when he recognized that person. "Miss Lu."

"Assistant Bei Yuan." Lu An Ran flashed a smile at the assistant. Then, she looked at the person behind the desk and noted the guilty look on his face. "Brother."

"Sorry." Lu Xun heaved a sigh. "I forgot that I was supposed to pick you up."

"I know," Lu An Ran said. "I thought you might be busy… so I decided to come over instead." She walked over to the table and glanced at the documents in Assistant Bei Yuan's hand. The moment he saw the photograph on the form, her movement halted.

"Where are the others?"

Lu An Ran snapped out of her thought and turned to her brother again. "Jia Xian is tired after that long flight. I asked Professor Jia to look over his son at the hotel before I find you."

A helpless smile appeared on his lips. "Sorry. As compensation, I will treat you guys to dinner."

"It was a rare chance for me to return. Of course, you are going to treat us to dinner." Lu An Ran clicked her tongue.

"President Lu, if there's nothing else, then I will return to work." Special Assistant Bei Yuan saw that the siblings were chatting and quickly excused himself.

As the door closed, Lu An Ran pulled a chair and sat down. She glanced at the letters and documents on the desk and sighed. "You're so busy. Will you have time to take us to dinner?"

"I will make time for you guys," Lu Xun said. "Have a seat. I will finish looking at these documents quickly."

"Alright." Lu An Ran smiled. As she recalled the documents that she had seen in Assistant Bei Yuan's hand, Lu An Ran hesitated for a few seconds before she spoke, "I saw that document in your assistant's hands. That person applied for a job at your company?"

His body froze. Lu Xun composed himself quickly but did not raise his head to look at his sister. "Hmm…"

Lu An Ran pursed her lips. Although she had heard some rumors that Shi An Na had left C Country, she did not expect that the girl would move to Capital City and applied for a job at her brother's company.

Up to this time, she did not know what was that woman thinking. Back then, she was the one who had persistently wanted to break up and hurt her brother deeply. Even if she was moving to Capital City, she should not apply for a job at her brother's company, right?

Didn't she know that her brother would definitely reject her application when he saw her application form?

Lu An Ran found that Shi An Na was really thick-skinned.

She picked up her phone and texted her husband about their plan later on. After exchanging a few words with Professor Jia, Lu An Ran lifted her head to look at her brother again. Seeing the serious look on his face made her chuckle.

"What are you laughing at?"

"You. You're too busy with your work. How about finding time to date instead?"

Lu Xun shot his sister a look.

"I saw the gossips forum. Brother, you are really good at attracting girls. The last gossip I read, you are with Feng Miao Miao."

"Don't tell me that you believe in such rumors."

"Of course I don't. But, I was just thinking… Brother, you were not interested in any of your rumored girlfriends?"

Lu Xun clicked his tongue. He thought about those girls he was rumored with and became unhappy. "Is my standard that low?"

"It's not that your standard is low." She leaned forward and studied her brother's face for a long time. "It's just that, I'm thinking that you haven't let go of that person. This is the reason why you haven't been in another relationship, right?"

"What do you mean I haven't let go? It has been six, seven years. I have already forgotten what that person looked like."

Lu An Ran scoffed. She knew that her brother was speaking nonsense.

Shi An Na had returned for a few months. She did not believe that her brother had not run into her even once. There's no way that her brother had forgotten what that person looked like.

She knew that what Shi An Na did had hurt her brother a lot. It was not fair that her brother had to suffer for years because of that person. However, no matter what everyone says, it seemed that her brother was unable to listen. He continued to torture himself for years, believing that he will not be able to get into another relationship.

Lu An Ran really hoped that her brother will be able to let go and find someone he liked.. But after seven years, she no longer knew what she should say to advise her brother.
