Chapter 201 201 – A Hard Worker
Seeing the many minotaurs, undeads, shapeshifters, and succubus rushing at him, Kaine moved his blood disks again.
Because there are more opponents, the male vampire doesn't target specific body parts. What mattered was that his opponents were injured, and he would draw their blood out.
Yes, Kaine could not move the blood still in the bodies of living things.
"Hey, hurry up, Kaine!" The skull grunted. "Don't waste our time."
"You think this is easy, huh!?" Kaine snorted. "There are quite a lot of them this time!"
The male vampire kept moving his blood disks at his enemies. They can indeed dodge or block. However, if one of the disks hurt their bodies even a little, then they were done for sure.
The wound would explode, spurting so much blood, instantly making them collapse and die.
With that method, Kaine took them down one by one, creating an ever-widening pool of blood.
The skull grumbled again, "This is taking too long."
Deciding to ignore the complaining, Kaine motioned for his twin to climb onto his back. "Come on. It will be more dangerous if I leave you here. You are not in a position to fight."
"You can't fight!?" The skull chuckled. "You're more of a burden than usual, bitch!!!"
The veins on Kayla's face and neck became prominent. "You…."
"Don't mind him, Kay." Kaine cut his twin sister's words off. "This is a perfect time to return to their base. They will deploy troops to search for us. The number of individuals on the base will be small."
After closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Kayla climbed onto her brother's back.

In one of the research rooms, Nate is still working on Lord Vorn's flying bike, even though screams can be heard from a distance. He was completely unaffected by that.
"Why do we have to look after him?" One of Velvet's bodyguards yawned and looked at Nate, who didn't even glance at her. "He's the one who wants overtime."
"Why not?" The second guard answered while sitting on a chair. "Since coming here, we haven't had any real work, apart from following miss Velvet, of course. I'm tired of masturbating again and again. That's why I offered ourselves to do this."
The third guard added. "Whether we are present or not, the result is the same. There are already guards outside this room, and the prisoner will never come back here. That would be stupid. In the end, we still did nothing."
"This is awesome!!!" Helen, the witch and fourth guard exclaimed. Her sparkling gaze fell on the sheets of paper on a table. "I've never heard of a system like this!!! It's truly revolutionary and can change the world!!!"
"Don't touch it, please." Nate chimed in while attaching something to the front of the flying bike, not looking at the witch at all. "I've arranged them in order."
Helen, who had taken one sheet of the blueprint, froze for a moment and put that thing back where it was.
The first guard approached the man, folding her arms across her chest. "How can you still work in a situation like this?"
"I have to finish this soon. Lord Vorn's closest people often give me encouragement and support. They want this to be finished as soon as possible so Lord Vorn can fly again."
The female guards glanced at the table in one corner of the room. There were many gifts on top of it, a jar of cookies, a book filled with illustrations of naked women, a bottle of wine, a strange clamp, and so on.
"Sometimes I wonder if they really are demons." The first guard sighed. "They are too kind, even though they do many questionable things."
The second guard smiled. "So, there's nothing wrong with us helping them, right?"
The first guard was about to respond but stopped when she heard screams from outside. Those are closer than before.
"They are coming." She hissed.
"Should we go out?" The third guard asked.
The second guard got up from the chair. "No, as per Lady Ayre's orders, it's better for us to stay here. If we go out, it means we open the door, and there's a chance for them to enter. She added a barrier spell on the door. The spell will be broken if we open it from the inside."
"Damn." The third guard sighed. "I hate this situation. There might be many injured or dead outside."
The second guard shrugged. "Remember, we're here guarding a lot of important research too. Let's get ready."
The guards gathered before the entrance, except for the first one. She looked at Nate again with her hands on her hips and shook her head.
"And this man doesn't care. He is really a hard worker." Her mouth formed a smile. "Well, I don't hate this kind of thing, though."
Finally, Nate stopped his activities. He stared at that woman with brunette hair and a face full of freckles.
The first guard widened her smile, then joined her comrades.
"They are close." The second guard raised her shield and sword. "Don't let your guard down, girls."
The other two guards did the same while Helen gripped her magic staff tightly.
The screams of pain were getting closer and closer. Nate backed off to one side of the room.
And after that, the atmosphere became silent. There was only the sound of footsteps approaching the door, followed by a low buzzing sound.
"He did something to the barrier spell and the door." Nate paused for a moment, concentrating on the buzzing sound. "This…. Maybe it's just a matter of time until he can open that door. He's really skilled at this kind of thing."
As trained soldiers, Velvet's guards were unfazed by Nate's words and the buzzing sound. They became ever more alert, prepared for whatever was about to happen.
And finally, the buzzing sound disappeared, replaced by 'clicks' from that door's keyhole.
After a while, the door opened slowly with a heavy creak.
"You took too long to open this barrier and door spell, Kaine!" Someone's voice echoed before the door was fully opened. "I can do it in just a few seconds!"
"That voice…." Helen gasped and widened her eyes. "No way…. That's…. Fergus?"
