Chapter 186: One Satisfying Vicious Slap
Although the Colzen representatives weren't a hundred percent sure, they knew that the arrogant Eusford representatives wouldn't care about things such as "bad matchups" against dark horse academies like theirs.
They were too prideful to care.
Thus, they dared send Ian instead of Shye knowing that there was a high chance the opponents would pick Abegail again as their one-on-one representative.
Sure enough, they did pick her, allowing the Colzen students to obtain the matchup advantage.
Seeing the smirk on Ian's face made Abegail seductively lick her lips in excitement.
Destroying such confident-looking guys has always been one of her twisted hobbies.
She couldn't pinpoint the reason, but witnessing them succumb to depression, utterly devastated by the humiliating defeat she had delivered, brought her a sense of satisfaction. thank-you-for-using-MvLeMpYr
The two participants stretched for a short while before assuming their battle stances.
Donning a cold look on his face, Ian shot Abegail a menacing glare as they stood in front of each other, waiting for the referee to announce the start of the match.
"Begin!"
Immediately after hearing the start of the match, Ian charged forward, unwilling to use his skills this early in the fight.
Upon realizing what her opponent was doing, Abegail nimbly backpedaled, shooting arrows from different angles while retreating.
An arrogant smile still plastered on her attractive face.
Due to the sharp projectiles, Ian had to run in a zigzag to avoid most of the arrows, though he had to deflect some which slowed down his ferocious advance.
Still, he was decisively closing the distance.
If nothing happened, he would be able to corner Abegail within the next few seconds.
"Hoh? I see you're quite skilled, Mister cool and clean-hearted guy." Abegail said, her face turning slightly serious. "If you weren't from such a dirty, mediocre academy, I might've allowed you to sleep with me."
Hearing Abegail's words as he slowly cornered her, Ian sneered in disdain while deflecting an arrow flying towards his neck.
"Heh, even if you allow me, I won't allow someone so promiscuous to sleep with me. Judging from your actions and your words, you probably don't have a father to guide you, and your thing…must be way overused by now so…no thank you."
Hearing Ian's retort, veins popped at the sides of Abegail's head.
It was always her who was insulting others and this was the first time in her life she sincerely wanted to strangle someone to death.
The bastard was calling her a prostitute?! Outrageous!
Meanwhile, Ian, who unknowingly won the diss fight was in the middle of remembering a certain gorgeous blueberry-haired girl's appearance.
'My Ava is still the best. In comparison, this harlot is just way too dusty.' thought Ian, his flaming dagger slicing and dicing in an attempt to hit the slippery Abegail.
Although he was missing, he was slowly cornering his opponent.
Finally, after a few more seconds, the girl had nowhere to run.
"Come on, stop running. I saw you fighting a melee against the Grumblethorne representative. Why don't you try doing the same with me?" Ian said, smiling menacingly.
Meanwhile harlo– Abegail, had a dark expression on her face.
"Fine, you're getting a bit too cocky. Time to put you in your place." retorted the Eusford representative as she drew the short dagger strapped on her left leg.
She refused to believe that such a lowlife could defeat her in terms of actual dueling skills.
After a short staredown, both representatives charged at each other.
A cacophony of metal clashing against metal continuously rang out from the main stage as Ian and Abegail engaged in a fierce melee where one of them quickly found out how wrong they were.
In the beginning, the two were fairly equal. However, as seconds went by, Abegail quickly found herself in a deep pit.
Challenging a top-tier scout like Ian turned out to be a huge mistake as he was nothing like Toph, the Grumblethorne representative.
After all, how could an archer holding a dagger be a match for a pure-blooded scout student?
The balance quickly collapsed when Ian started mixing in a few punches and kicks, sending Abegail staggering backward, regretting her decision to fight Ian in a melee.
She then attempted to use a skill to escape, however, it didn't activate fast enough allowing Ian to sneak in one vicious slap on the right side of her face, sending her hurtling through the air.
Upon stabilizing her footing and comprehending the situation, the audience was already mocking her with laughter.
As for Ian, he had a serene smile on his face, looking extremely satisfied.
"You!!! Loathsome rat!!! You've successfully angered me. I'll show you why lowlives like you shouldn't dare resist us, the true elites!" Abegail raged.
She then deftly returned the dagger to its strap and pulled out a bow and quiver from her small spatial bag.
An unusually strong gust of wind suddenly formed four small tornadoes around Abegail before seemingly converging in the jade embedded in the bow's grip.
'What? High-grade enchantment jades? Talk about being born with a silver spoon...' Ian thought, his expression turning serious.
Abegail's weapon reminded everyone of the difference between a kingly academy and a mediocre one.
"Hahaha! Now, let's see if you can still speak arrogantly." the young woman said as she took an arrow from the quiver strapped on her back.
She then placed the arrow on the high-grade gold-tier relic in her hands and pulled the bowstrings with a dark look on her face.
*FWOOSH*
Ian barely had time to react.
The arrow was so fast that if his reaction time was one millisecond slower, his simulated head would've popped and he would've been sent out of the arena right then and there, ending Colzen Academy's run.
'Crap, that was way too close.' Ian thought, sidestepping as he desperately dodged the absurdly fast arrows.
This time, it was Ian who was slowly cornered.
Abegail didn't even need to move, all she had to do was focus on shooting her arrows and it was enough to stop Ian from advancing.
Naturally, Ian wouldn't allow himself to remain in a disadvantageous position, thus, he quickly decided that it was time to use his skills.
Like a phantom, he disappeared under hundreds of thousands of eyes and reappeared behind Abegail, viciously stabbing his flaming dagger toward her neck.
"Naive!"
